I miss my Pinto. Lol! Mine was a ‘74 runabout Bronze color. I repainted it a Root Beer color. Even swapped out the whole interior. 😀 thanks for update video! Oh, it was my first brand new car I ever bought.

Those wheels look identical to the ones used on the Ford Capri and Cortina here in the UK and yes you guessed it they were rwd and used pinto engines so guessing shared more than just the steel wheels! Nice job buddy looks awesome!
@AMPROEngineering
@AMPROEngineering 4 жыл бұрын
Are quite similar but the ones on the Capri and Cortina are actually prettier. Suspect that is where afford USA got the idea from. I think you called the 2 L the Pinto engine correct? I don't early cars had the Kent 1.6 and later cars had the lima 2.3 those several of my full-size ones have the cologne 2.8. Are used to have a Capri with the correct euro stamped wheels and a 2.8. I loved that car but it was a total rot box when I got it and a very wealthy man bought it for me shortly after and fully restored it so I'm glad it's still alive.

@@AMPROEngineering they came with many engines in the UK there was even a 1.3 believe it or not. But yes the 2ltr was called the pinto. I had a 1.8 ltr version on my Ford Sierra the 4 door version of what you call the Mercury XRt4i! Nice car big by UK standards

I appreciate that. Not having rear suspension makes the car bouncy on uneven terrain and given all of the body modification I didn't want to crack anything

So explosion jokes and calling an RC terrible things like "Ford Pinto" aside, this build is fantastic! The level of detail is as professional as it gets! Color really pops! (Disclaimer: I actually really like the Pinto, I just think the whole gas tank thing is hilarious)
@AMPROEngineering

Thanks a lot. It was a good build Though a little frustrating. The fuel tank math on these cars was always overhyped despite the fact this was the safest subcompact to come out of the 1970's. The car was never dangerous, it was just what came out from Ford showing that they knew it was possible to make the car safer.

Would you consider building another one of these with the Superscale active suspension? That would be a very neat build!
