In a historic initiative, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across 27 states and UTs at a cost of Rs. 24, 470 crores on 6th August via video conferencing. Master Plans are being prepared for the development of these stations as ‘City Centres’, with proper integration of both sides of the city driven by the holistic vision of overall urban development of the city, centred around the railway station.

This is great initiative that benefits of development are delivered to common man. Express ways and airports built are seen as for rich and middle class. This perception is being reversed as that modern railway stations are mostly for common people because these people travel by rail besides busses. So redeveloped stations offer common man much desired comfort. Since modern trains like Vande Bharat, Hum Safar, etc are introduced even middle and rich who are travelling in those trains are given comfortable and modern railway stations. few suggestions: one of the major need of the time is the proper implementation , proper governance with hard fines on rule breakers , timely maintenance of stations and we can take PPP model in services of railways to avoid corruption and made a quota for womens of that specific station area for jobs on avg, 50 womens on each station with training and should focus on skill development to absorb our demographic dividend.

Sir, Biharsharif Railway Station, Bihar is also mentioned in the list. It is good but currently there is no proper approach road available here. Without a good approach road, there is no benefit of modernising the station.
