Democracy and constitution are two different things . Democracy means rule of people , constitute means rule of constitution. Constitution in democracy is made to protect people’s rights , but if same constitution start suppressing the rights , start killing democracy then it depends on people that to agree on it or not. Farmers protest in Delhi was its biggest example , there were three laws in constitution that we didn’t agree to , democracy gives you the right that if you want to agree to constitution or not . India has always said it’s a democratic country never said it’s a constitutional republic.
