There is no point in asking for an Apology! As rightly mentioned by the speaker, Apology or Atonement has to come from within, not to be demanded. And that is never going to happen as the majority are not even aware of what transpired. The general attitude is how the colonies were actually benefited from colonization(might be true to a great degree for some countries). But , it proved extremely disastrous for India. Some of our grand parents were freedom fighters who were martyred. While it does not make sense to ask apology of the conquerors, as is mentioned in a lot of comments, but the heinous crimes commited against humanity needs to be mentioned for the whole world to see. This is not revenge against the British, as a lot of people seem to think. This is the least amount of justice those departed and tortured souls could get. And the victims will always remember the past, even though we have moved on. The current British generation may care less for an apology or reading about the accurate history. Just learn to live with these differences.

Actually they were killed by Indian soldiers. Not a single British unit was involved. They were mainly Gurkhas and even some Sikhs. General Dyer acted alone and he was later removed. Though in my opinion he should have been court martialed and shot for giving the order.
