Loved the Sun...blows away the Royal Class IMO..of course the ship's layout is different..it's a new class ..makes sense..cabins 10x better than those awful Royal class ships..a full couch! A glass enclosed shower FINALLY! Piazza so much more useful..you can sit anywhere in see what's going on..not so much on the Royal ships..you have to either get a seat on that first floor, or stand the whole time leaning against the railing....Catch By Rudi's, Umai Teppanyaki, Crown Grille all super...we also loved Spellbound...amazing card tricks and that bar was sooo cool..great drinks too..Seaview Bar up front on deck 17 terrific views of the sea..Wakeview Bar aft on deck 8 very cool...beautiful ship..so airy & bright..already re- booked both the Sun & sister Star Princess next Nov '25 & March '26...hope you like her as much as we did!

I hear you, the Sun is a great ship and I've heard good things about the Star Princess too! Although I do not necessarily share your negatives about the Royal Class, I happened to like them. And in some ways, I thought they were nice nicer ships. But this ship is a very cool ship. And yes, spellbound was absolutely amazing.

@@amsoiladam ..I liked the Royal class except those awful cabins...a bed & a desk? No couch, no seat, nowhere to sit..do you know when my wife & I entered the cabin on the Regal Princess, we had carry ons & beach bag..when we entered, immediately we noticed how tight it was..my wife said, "where do we put our things?"..and I said, "where do we eat?" We actually went down to Guest Services and asked if we got the wrong cabin, lol...I asked the agent, where do we eat- we like to order room service or breakfast sometimes"..he said, "you don't eat in those cabins...you need the "DELUXE" balcony ( we had just a regular balcony..didn't know you have to ay extra $$ for a couch..) which has loveseat (no couch) , but couches are for mini suites & up"...I had never stayed in a balcony cabin w/o a at least a sofa/ couch on the other 6 cruise lines we sailed ( RCI, Disney, Celebrity, HAL, Carnival & NCL ), nor a cabin without a glass enclosed shower..I shave in the shower, and not only were those Royal Class bathrooms small ( VERY small..), but what a mess every time I turned to rinse my razor in the shower..what a mess..that's why I loved the Sun cabins...On the Royal ships I liked the bar service, drinks, ports of call, excursions, service overall...but we loved O'Malley's and I thought the general "vibe" of the ship was younger & it's a much cooler ship than the Royal ships..the Royal ships maybe a bit "classier" , but much older crowd too..we were in our mid to late 60's on the Regal & Enchantment, and we were like 10-15 yrs younger than the other passengers..one night non the Regal, the main theater show was a lady sitting on a chair & played classical music on the violin for 45 minutes...my wife was asleep in 5 minutes , though I lasted another 2 minutes, lol..we are going on the Sun 11/25, The Star 3/26 and a 14 night Enchantment 12/26..now that Enchantment has both O'Malley's & Catch By Rudi's, I'm sure it will be better...I booked the "deluxe" balcony this time, so we have a loveseat at least...the curtained showers are another thing...thanks for your review again...

You definitely have to put it on your bucket list! We’ve been on a few, and it is a great way to decompress from that thing called life! There are quite a few that are very affordable. And so much is included.
