It's classic 17th century architecture with the beautiful canal houses makes it a very unique city and a great place to explore, of course paying close attention to the bike traffic since it is insane! I’ve been to Amsterdam and I don’t know what’s so good about it. I found it quite boring without much to do. Of course the coffee shops and red light district are interesting in their own ways but that’s pretty much all! 😅

We will be in Amsterdam on a 12hrs layover. Do you recommend us going to Zaanse Schans? If yes, how do we get there from AMS Airport? What do you think about renting a bike to go around town?

Probably there are tours from Amsterdam to there, but I think it would be either go there or spend the day in Amsterdam, if you haven't been to Amsterdam, I would rather spend my time in the city.
