There are several cruises: all or most depart from Damrak. There are open and closed (heated) boats, but also smaller boats where you and your party can sit. If you google “canal cruise amsterdam light festival” you will find the companies that offer these rides.

Wow, they really outsourced not only their voiceover, but seemingly their whole writing process to AI synthesis/some LLM (probably just ChatGPT). Talking about human connection and "mindfulness" (cool new buzzword) - generating a huge stream of BS word soup full of fake grandeur slop. Honestly upset lol. At the start I actually thought you put that in, and was about to click off, cause I thought - "oh no, yet another slop bot channel aggregating random footage" - but damn, they actually subjected everyone on the boat to that IRL. xD I see that their vague theme was "Rituals", but phew, I'm sure people would be perfectly fine with a terse description- or even just the art/lightshow by itself... You actually did a great job of capturing this, and it really looks fantastic, the quality/and exposure work turned out really great for pretty tricky conditions, I feel. What cam do you use?

Since getting a new TV (Sony KD-55X85L, replacing a Samsung UE32D6500) last year I absolutely fell in love all over again with watching high quality footage of whatever beautiful places out there, and am looking around for new lenses and maybe cams myself. I actually didn't know about this festival, it's always cool to see nice light installations - and tbh having one right in the gracht is really unique, cause the reflections from the water kinda give it a whole new dimension, so I might keep this in mind if I ever visit Amsterdam. (we're usually in Groningen for some day trips from Germany, and visited Utrecht last year)
