Playing on my newly acquired Amstrad cpc 464, my favouite shooter on the Amstrad 1943 and the awesome harrier attack. It’s brilliant to be able to play all my childhood tapes again.

Having watched a few similar videos of boot ups of old machines, especially when the video is glitchy, during display, sometimes it's as simple as moving the RF cable away from other potential sources of interference, or using a cable that has thicker plastic, or better conductive materials inside the cable. An RGB cable, you mention, could that be DIN, SCART; RCA style, i.e. yellow video, red/ white video audio, composite. Whatever the cable a newer, better shielded might be the easy solution? Yup, vaguely remember the Gilbert character on Saturday morning TV, ITV, Gaz Top as main presenter, in some kind of oversized dustbin that could voyage through space, hence Gilbert the Alien; didn't know it at the time but the show's theme was probably a massive rip-off of 'Explorers,' 1985, a movie I saw for the first time only a couple of years ago, a great movie.

I think with the cable I might have to have a separate cable for Rgb and power, this cable is all in one and has the power running into the rgb also. Which I think is how it was powered off the original monitor.

@@Retro-cabin Sorry never owned an Amstrad 464, used to have a ZX Spectrum, so I did have at least one Amstrad game, back in the day: Vectoball, by Mastertronic, which was a FLIPPY. Evidently a bespoke connector for that computer, being an all in one solution, like you've described.

@@mark-andrews I’ve got a couple of spectrums and the power and rf/composite are two separate cables so simple. The Amstrad works different as original monitor powers the system, I think the power went in the power port and also back up the rgb cable to the monitor (very strange). I just need to do a bit of research on it👍🏻. Just happy I’ve got a unit so I can play my games😂, it was like finding gold yesterday when I saw it in retro world👍🏻.

Good idea, going to get new cables first to rule that out, then will replace caps I think if I remember there all ceramic on the motherboard board.
