Excellent presentation and a very nice build. Being an older guy I had a 69 Roadrunner in blue,383 automatic. which I bought from my cousin in 1973 who was the original owner. Later a 72 Challenger in Hemi Orange with a black vinyl roof and black interior, 318, automatic. Before building the kits, I was a dealer promo model collector, but the muscle Mopar promos were really expensive. so now I build the kits like a promo and paint them all one color., so far with good results and way easier on the wallet.

Thanks! I know a few that like to build Promo Style! Have fun building them.

Nice job, Raoul. Correct or not, I like the color. I painted mine Sassygrass Green. I had this great vision where I was going to paint Mopar kits in each of the High Impact colors. Still working on that.

Always great to look at an old build and see how you used to go about building a model. That kits is great to build and as you pointed out, it comes with the option to create a rag top. Love your choice of the body color and the interior 'white' is just like the way I remember seeing them back in the day.

For the 71 Pace Car. I have a resin body kit with flat hood from Time Machine Resin. www.rocketfin.com/resin_product.cfm?id=2490 . Harts Parts has the front and rear resin kits you are thinking of. I have those also. hartspartsresin.com/product/amt-71-dodge-challenger-pace-car-conversion/ Here is Harts Parts pace car kit.

Thanks for posting another Mopar build of yours, Raoul. I wouldn't restore your AMT '70 Dodge Challenger R/T you built years ago as I would keep it as it is so you can see how far your modeling skills have progressed over the years. The Dodge Challenger R/T has always been a favorite Dodge of mine. The last time I saw one of these (there were multiple Challengers on display) was in a museum in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last year called Wheels Of Yesteryear and if you ever visit the area you will need to stop off and see all of the Dodge and Plymouth muscle cars as well as other muscle cars in this museum!

Nice build, and an interesting color choice. If you have more of this kit I would leave this one alone, sort of as a time capsule survivor. Then build another one as your dream version. I love Challengers too and have 3 of the kits with plans for 2 of them already and the parts to finish them. One will be the '71 Indy Pace Car, using the Hart's Parts conversion kit and Fred Cady decals, the Other will be the RT SE Challenger like the one you built using the Jimmy Flintstones body. I am leaning towards triple black on that one but am undecided as of yet. The last I may build as the Vanishing Point Challenger, that car will be forever burned into my heart and I would love to have a scale version of my own.
@TheMuscleCarModeler2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have way to many Challengers! 5 of this kit alone. I also have all the parts to make one a 71 Pace Car!

Do NOT rebuild this car! This is a part of your past and shows many areas where you have evolved. Archive it, put it in a secure, sealed place on your most treasured spot. This is you and should be saved. And once again, spot on with the history.
