AMT 406 Deux-Montagnes Bombardier electric train

Agence Métropolitaine de Transport 406 is a 1997 Bombardier Electric Train line on Deux-Montagnes line. Seen here as it departing at Sainte-Dorothée when boarding, the 2nd part is departing at Roxboro-Pierrefonds heading back to Montréal.

Patronage must have really jumped since the introduction of this equipment. When the old CN MU's and box-cabs were running, trains were usually about 6-7 cars long but I'm seeing a 10-car train here.

Yes, the original MU's during regular hours were 6 cars. Weekend service was down to 3 cars. During rush hours with the box cabs or steeple cabs were 6-9 cars. Now the current setup is 10 cars all the time during the week, 6-10 cars on weekends depending on demand or events. The train sets cannot be more than 10, the platforms won't allow without costly extensions. We were supposed to have the dual-mode locomotives plus double decker coaches by 2012, but they ended up on the Mascouche line that hardly sees those trains at full capacity even at rush hour, we were taken for a ride of empty promises.
