Nice. Had the same problem with a Monogram’55 Chevy turned it into a junkyard find as well.

'55 Chevy Bel-air: Two-door. No rust, but needs total restoration. $6,000 or best offer. George Cobb Alfieri's Auto Restoration. KL-5-6400 The ultimate ad for a real one like this.

In my old model book they used bendy straws for the hoses and used thread to do plug wires.

I have this kit in my stash, not yet built. Been considering trying a beat-up and rusty "backyard hulk" type of build.

That's awesome, I'm doing my 55 now, not a barn find, and my parts are ok. Still yours came out great.

Nice looking barn find Chevy. The salt method works good. Nice tutorial on you builve a few of the original issues from about 1990. I find it to be a decent kit. Its possible the later re-releases had issues.

I'm going to be giving that salt method a go on my next Armour kit, it looked great and the texture it gave was perfect for exposed exhausts. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your vids with us

Great job, the only thing you missed was the rocker panels. They should have been rusted with a few holes in them like you would have found with a real car. Gonna have to try this kit. Thanks.........

Warped parts are surely no fun I bought 2 revell custom vans and both were bad What made then worse was body, floor and frames were the warped parts and one wheel on one was crushed Took my many years of building knowledge i learned and managed to save them

THANK YOU. I’ve been looking for a way to make layer of dust on the body.. You did the same for the windows? Wet Pigment Dry More pigment?
@MyHobbyWorkShop
@MyHobbyWorkShop 2 жыл бұрын
Hey no problem. I used dry pigments. Another option is water down dust colored acrylic paint and cover the windows and as it drys it’ll look like a layer of dirt.

Is your Spray Paint Booth inside the house? Is it vented to the outside or just inside the house with the fan? Does it mitigate the paint fumes if used inside? Your thoughts are welcomed. kindest regards.
@MyHobbyWorkShop
@MyHobbyWorkShop 3 жыл бұрын
It’s in a garage and I have a vent that runs from the spray booths fan to a window. I also use a mask when spraying because I don’t wanna breathe that stuff in.
