Ivan, I highly recommend Rxtactical if you need prescription eye-pro still. I ordered a pair of prescription Oakley si ballistic shocktubes and I had them at my door in about a month. They weren’t cheap, but it was worth it. They’ve got a lot of options for lenses I got clear transitions, works great for outdoors. There’s just not a lot of places you can get custom prescription eye pro from so I figured I’d let you know about them! Keep up the quality content man
@michaelpereira8082 жыл бұрын
I'm waiting for pretty much the same setup to arrive. You're right about limited options for prescription ballistic eyepro. They were pricey but if it works well I may pick up another pair (fingers crossed that insurance pays a portion)
@iDiglett2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelpereira808 That’s awesome, I think you’ll be very satisfied! Definitely worth the money. Love the shocktubes so far, very comfortable with ear pro on! I didn’t get the extra hard scratch coating but I also haven’t been wearing them everyday. That reminds me I need to file a claim with my insurance, (I already bought another pair of glasses last year so had to wait as my insurance only allows one coverage per year) I think depending on your coverage they should cover something. Mines not great, but I think I’ll get about $150 off my lenses after the claim. Forward the receipt to your insurance and see what they can do.

Those high scope mounts ruin a good cheek weld for me, contributing to the eye box problem. I'm back to conventional mounts with the stock a bit higher into my shoulder pocket. Repeatability and speed are back now!

Until things change, the Upstate NY Minuteman Loadout is a Mini-14 and a M1911-A1 on your hip (NY 7 round in magazine law). Should things change, the gear will get improved.

@62guitarguy I have built many M1911-A1 Compacts. For a while they were all the rage and it’s what customers really wanted. On days like today, when it’s 85 out with 85 humidity, I have no problem taking one of my shorties out. 3 years ago I built myself a new one - Officer frame, and Commander Slide. Gloss blue and Ivory. Real Ivory.

I would recommend 2 things, find glasses that can accept prescription ballistic lenses or if you don't need glasses to shoot, or shoot better without, yes that's a thing. Look for safety glasses with exchangeable lenses.

Would you have considered a OWB holster attached to a lowride belt loop like from northman/safariland; that way you could clear the thing2 rig set up as is when drawing the pistol ? Or did the competition rules limit your gear selection to an EDC belt set up for the pistol carry ? Thanks for sharing your experience and equipment selected !

I wore Salomon's and wore out the soles. The uppers were perfect, but after two years, Salomon will not warranty them. So, you're stuck with some perfect uppers with no traction on the bottom. And, they will not resole their shoes. I'll wear some other more serviceable shoes.
