I love the Los Nietos/Norwalk crossing! You will catch me from time to time park my car on the grassy side of Los Nietos to eat my lunch or dinner. Great memories and videos that I personally have taken of different trains. I also recall not so good memories of accidents that have occurred at this very crossing also.

in cases when a train signal is shown as red the train stops because the red signal shows that a train is passing by and if it kept going it would collide with the passing train. in the case that happened with the BNSF train, it may have encountered a red signal showing that the amtrak pacific surfliner cab car that passed the BNSF train was coming through.
