Amtrak Dash-8

We are back in California my friends!
The night prior to this, CDTX SC-44 Charger #2109 caught fire, so Amtrak brought in Dash-8 #amtrak 503 to replace the faulty locomotive. Since cab car also #6905 wasn't available, a Sightseer Lounge was swapped in. This video captures Train 573 running thru Sorrento Valley Coaster Station. Also Southbound Surfliner #566 came by as I was getting back into my car.
On another note, about a month ago, Amtrak brought down 2 NPCU’s, and a set of Comet Cars from the Bay Area to be used on the Surfline. However, this was a mistake because they failed to bring a dining car, and crews in Los Angeles were not trained to operate the cars. Nor were the engineers qualified to operate the NPCU’s. Therefore, subbing in an NPCU in this situation would have never worked.
