Amtrak Empire Builder Leaving Chicago Private Car Rear Platform View to Glenview IL

The experience of leaving Chicago on the rear end of Amtrak's westbound Empire Builder in a privately owned passenger car. On a Sunday afternoon, the first few mile are slowed by detouring around track maintenance be done on the "off time". This results a lot of interesting crossing over back forth between tracks. We pass a south bound METRA at 5:20, and track maintenance crews at 11:45. From the 14th St coach yard, into Chicago Union Station, to the first stop at Glenview Illinois. Thanks for watching.

Compare this to RailJames' video from 4 years prior, and you'll notice there was a skyscraper built over the tracks into the north throat of Union Station in the intervening years.
