Amtrak P091 Silver Star in Kissimmee 3/18/2020

We recently spent five days in Kissimme filming Sunrail and Amtrak trains at the Kissimmee Amtrak Station. We stayed at a local Air B&B and had loads of fun.
One of the first trains to roll around the corner was the southbound Amtrak P091 Silver Star, a daily run from New York City to Miami via Tampa. The Amtrak crew and station attendants were about the nicest people you can meet on any given day.

Tony, they slowed down considerably after we were there. Everyone much more relaxed here. I had already had Covid in January but few people here had any idea what was coming. Danny and I started wearing masks after we were here. this week really showed the changes.We went from eating indoors to eating outdoors to restaurants closing. all in 5 days.

Hi Dan, what rail scanner do you use? Where did you get it?

Hi Lindsay! Thanks for watching! I use the Uniden BC125AT scanner with a Diamond brand long antennae, model RH77CA. I got them both on Amazon. the scanner was around $100 and I think the antennae was about $20. They both work pretty well together. I turn all the bands off except for the railroad channels and just scan those. I didn't do any other programming or anything and I pick up all the CSX and Amtrack trains, also the SunRail around Orlando. I still sometimes get EMS calls, but not so much. Make sure you put the channel lock on after you get set up. I bumped mine once and it took two days for me to figure out how to fix it. @@lindsaymoore7232 Hello Lindsay, I am so glad you answered. Danny and I have missed you. Even though we are suppose to be in our rainy season here, we have more days without any rain at all. The season started late this year. We have had some good rain. Just not nearly enough.
