Great videos Walt. My mom and dad worked on the D&RGW till they both retired in 95' and 98'. Your videos remind me of the days I got to spend with my mom as a kid hiding out in the work truck while she got cabooses and locomotives outfitted for the next run. She was a general laborer and my dad was the rip track repair yard foreman. Grand Junction CO. I will always love the D&RGW as it was part of my life. Your videos keep that nostalgia alive. Thank you!

That's wonderful that you have a family connection to such an historic railroad.

I've never been to Denver but that's a nice station. Was Denver Union Station a, thru-track station or was it stub-ended back then? I'm not familiar with the track plan.

When passenger trains went south to Colorado Springs and Pueblo DUS was a thru station. That stopped with Amtrak on May 1, 1971.

Just subscribed to your KZbin channel. I remember seeing your video clips on the railroad quarterly that Ron from Ohio produced. I did some video recording from 1995 to about 2006. I am trying to build my KZbin channel up and record railroad videos again. I work as a short line locomotive engineer in Texas and am very busy with this occupation. Great videos thanks for posting!

If you would like, please give me the titles of your five favorite videos (that you produced) and I'll put them in a playlist on my channel. Thank you, Mark, for watching.

@@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos thanks Walt. I will scroll through my channel and pick out 5 videos. I will also mention your channel on my KZbin channel. I use to produce railroad DVD's and was half owner of Hot Rail Productions. I met Ron McElrath of Revelation Audio Visuals some years back when I lived in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Sounds good. Interestingly, I've known Ron for many years but never actually met him.

I’ve been seeing units designated as GP30R and SD40T-2R. What does the R stand for?
@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos

R means the unit was rebuilt at least once.

@Walt Loevy If a unit has 2 R’s in its name, does that mean it was rebuilt more than once? I haven’t seen any units with 2 R’s in their designations, but I want to know if it’s the case.

No, it doesn't matter how many times a locomotive has been rebuilt, it just gets one R to distinguish it from units not yet rebuilt.
