Guys, Dont fall in trap. I have seen ice cream parlors closed due to no profit. The profit mentioned as 5lakhs to 10 Lakhs is not true. It depends on lot of factors like location, demand etc. To be very clear even though they don't ask royalty or profit sharing the margin is just 23% on Amul product for parlors, that also they don't give in one go. While buying the product the distributor gives just 21% margin and then after the end of that Quarter the remaining 2% margin is added. Whereas other vendors like Baskin Robins, rock stone, gives a margin of 40% to 50% on their products and that's why they ask for royalty or profit sharing which is valid. Also on dairy product the margin is just 10% on Amul product for parlor and distributor, so now imagine selling a 20INR product you just get 2 INR on that. If you include other expenses like rent, electric bill, staff salary you can make a wild guess of how much profit you will get. Now to make 5L to 10L profit you need to understand what should be your total sales. Even if you customize your product your selling value should be at least 14L to 18L to get that profit. Even to make a profit of 1L you selling value should be a minimum of 5L and above. We have our parlor for last 1 year so make a careful decision while investing.

it is just rough calculation, you need to replace your values in that and chk how much you will get from that finally

Also the EB for 2 deep freezer and one standing freezer comes around 8k to 10k. Definitely you cannot have 1 standing freezer and expect a sales of 8L. You need to have that much amount of space and equipment to stock up that item. Also if you don't have your own shop then imagine the rent in some important area, you can't put this in some remote or very residential area and expect a sales of 8L.

Rent less than 10 k you can't get . Also you haven't factored in the cost of Advance for shop which will be in the range of Rs 5 to 6 lakhs. Cost of deep freezer to be borne by franchise which will be Rs 1 to 1.5 lakhs. I have spoken to Amul & I am giving you first hand info

You should talk with practical numbers. Don't project unrealistic numbers. Where do you get a shop for rent at Rs 5000 ? Commercial shops are expensive. If you are assuming you would get so many customers, then shop should be in prime area. Prime area shops are minumum 15k . Please revisit your calculations

Numbers don't match to reality because you cannot get a shop for 5000 which will have business of 8,00,000.. It will cost around 15 - 20,0000 or even higher.. Also labour cost is not as cheap as 8000 nowadays.. It's also around 15 - 20000.. So net profit cannot be as high as you say..
