I have to say, Kongou's design is truly menacing. The way the ship splits in half for the supergravity cannon looks so much like a gaping maw the way it is shown. The way it closes like an alligator and just clamps down. I truly adored seeing it be used for that very purpose in Cadenza, really a lovely scene.

i always tied between kongou and takao. bth because who they are, and takao more so because she is a unique ship.

Takao class consisted four ships : Takao, Atago, Chokai and Maya, and by many historians were deemed as one of the best heavy cruiser design at that time. However in the both Anime and Movie they show only Takao and Maya (and I'm seriously still confused why they go with this idiotic out of blue stunt with Maya?..) when in Cadenza movie they show Myoko sisters, when Atago and Chokai were still "missing"... but I think they needed to choose which ships to show without turning this series in to Fog style Kancolle one.
