Accelerator didn’t know what he was getting into in his first fight. That was the first opponent who could actually hurt him, so he really didn’t have any counter to it. It is almost unforgivable that he lost the ones after it though. All he needed to do was fly out of Touma’s range and throw stuff at him from a distance. There are a few reasons I can still see him lose those later fights too. He did have to end his fights quickly, which might have been a reason to close distance with Touma. Touma also has really good evasion and could dodge or negate or change the direction of a lot of his attacks by their second fight. The only easy way for Accelerator to do damage is to get closer. Accelerator is not always mentally stable during his fights either, and sometimes I think he wanted to lose.
