I first found this AMV way back in high school, and I'm honestly amazed at how well it's all held up over the years (not to mention that it suddenly popped up front-page YT for me). Also, I feel like I may have actually found a meaning to this AMV, where before I didn't really think anything of it beyond "a unique take on fate bringing lovers together": Time feels like it's moving so slowly, like a drifting cloud (represented by the objects), but when you stop to look you suddenly see just how quickly it's all flown by (the clocks and quick flashing lights). It can all seem so surreal, time being so subjective, and it's always moving onwards without us ever noticing or thinking about it. But when you find the right person, and are side by side with them (the heart at the end), it can feel like you're floating, and everything seems to come to a gentle pause and you think things like, "I wish this moment could last forever".

...okay, so...lemme see if I got this right. None of the objects (or characters) were actually floating to begin with, nor in those locales. Which means that the creator of this AMV took a metric TON of various material from a thirty-something different animes. Then he animated all of it into this dreamlike sequence with a romantic ending between two characters from different shows. While at the same time making everything seem like it was the same anime to begin with. I can hardly believe it! This is so smooth, so seamless! Everything goes so incredibly well together, melding and harmonizing. Especially that bit at 2:00 where the girl picks the magazine out of the air was so natural! This is truly the top-rank product of incredible skill and creativity. Not to forget how wonderfully well this all goes to the music! If someone told me that this was the original music video to this song, I'd have believed it in a heartbeat. The dreamlike flow and atmosphere conveyed in the visuals is a perfect match to the sound and mood of the music. This really puts the "Music Video" into "Anime Music Video". I am just wowed. Truly, TRULY one of the best AMVs. Of all time.

I actually disagree. While Angel Beats was too short and was filled with some holes, Clannad and Anohana both had their fair share of troubles as well. Clannad, to me, is fairly overrated and pretty slow/boring. If you want feels, go for 'After Story' (but you need to watch Clannad first unfortunately). Anohana was really good, but had lulls in the story-telling. Both are worth a watch, but to say Angle Beats 'pales in comparison' in the feels department isn't true at all lol

What I really want to know is why Oreki is such a prominent character in a lot of AMV's. Sure, there are plenty of AMVs with different characters, but his tends to show up as MC's in mixed AMVs, quite often. I love his character, I'm just curious about this, though.

Because Oreki's character design or all the characters from Hyōka have a standard character design that blend well with other anime. Now lets take other anime such as "Attack On Titan", "Bleach" , "One Piece", and "Naruto" now I wouldn't label there animation unique but by comparison there all are obviously distinct animation styles. Another reason is Oreki despite his usual facial expression he has very expressive face that portrays emotion that helps him blend well with any other situation whether it be a comedic or serious one. Many example are shown in the many amvs he has been in such as "Sincerity AMV" now that one does use both Oreki and Chitanda but you can still see how he has a very expressive face that create a serious tone now take "The Boy Who Murdered Love AMV" and the "Cockaine AMV" both are more of a lighter toned amvs but have very expressive facial expression. And finally popularity if Hyoka wasn't a popular well known anime it wouldn't be seen as much every where. edit Punctuation this one is for you NoGround

Looks like Gorz's the creator of this AMV's youtube channel has been deleted. Not sure what happened to him but it seems his content isn't uploaded anywhere else and he has no other platform that he uses. He's made a lot of nice AMVs on his youtube channel so the fact that they're all gone now is sad. Hopefully this reupload of his AMV doesn't get taken down and if it does I hope someone has downloaded this video since it would be a waste to lose what I would consider one of the best.

They don't exist any more. This was just a golden era for amvs. 2010-2015 roughly. Maybe a little before but I'd say around 2010 is where more people got competitive to make the best videos possible even if it took hours every day for several months. That doesn't happen any more.

I wouldn't say it "doesn't happen any more" because we had BIG AMV studios such as: MDS, SNS, LIMS, YRS, etc. ( Unfortunately, most have disbanded ) We had Collaborative channels such as: Apxllo ( Apolo ), Trxsh, IDLEGLANCE, etc. We had soloists who had their own channels and edited in different editing styles. ( I just cannot remember every single one of them but I do have a list somewhere )
