The big three are all cash cows but they are really just there to provide entertainment, not to tell a perfect story, or provide perfect characters with amazing character development. Pretty much like dragon ball z, it had a lot of failures as a story but it was one of the most entertaining shows ever.

I love Naruto, it's just like others shounen, sometimes it makes you laugh, cry, etc. But it's rare to see such great character storyline like Itachi had, overall plot isn't half bad, but yeah - Itachi's story is just great ; D
