For me this was my first real introduction to anime (beside Pokemon Even then I didn't know it was anime) and I saw the show on Netflix so I decided to watch it and now I've seen countless numbers of them I have to thank this AMV for it Edit: I should add I was 10 when I first found it mainly because every morning we would watch music videos before we went to school and one day this popped up and I loved this is Halloween from nightmare before Christmas and then I started watching this show with my dad later that week he stopped watching it after a while and then I continued funny how something that is little under 4 minutes long started a love for anime

The thing about Soul Eater is that is starts off very light and funny, but as the story progresses it gets darker and darker with less comedic relief. I love how the manga and anime were written this way because it follows the overarching theme of a decent into madness.

(not Cat witch, as in a witch of the cats, but rather a Cat of the witches, and I forgot her name. Was it something like Blair?) And in manga, there are a lot more comedic relief in the first 10 chapters at least, so the characters' tone was a bit lighter than how the setting is.
