In early PC times this tank was quite potent. Today it lacks a decent camo rating (even as a medium) to prevail. The Lorraine 40t is what the AMX50 100 is trying to be.

I played this tank as a TD and had a blast. People keep thinking it's the last shell, so they just keep going outside cover.

I grinded this tank back when I still was very much a noob but I did like it then. I remember one time when both my ammo rack got damaged and my loader was killed. I had already used my repair and medic kits. Let's just say that it isn't a happy memory 😂

its a good support tank, but the 40 seconds reload is really the main problem. Its too much time, still sometimes i get great games on it. If you survive until the middle of the battle, then i cant wreck them

Just got this, been mullared in my first four games and have retired it for a while to save my sanity. It looks like it's best played with plenty of support/distraction - not a good tank if it only works if the rest of your team helps out.

Yeh the 50 100 can be deadly but it does struggle in a lot of situation

I believe it was changed to a medium purely for matchmaking. The matchmaker tries to match each team with the same amount of heavies. And its possible for the 50 100 to be your only top tier heavy. Which often means you'll lose because it can't perform the heavy tank role and lead a push since its out of the game for 48 seconds after each clip. And what's sad is the AMX 50 100 is probably the best out of the "heavy tank" line. Because it can clip out anything of its tier 1 on 1 if you can make that scenario happen. The tier 9 and 10 are more or less useless compared to tanks of other nations. Not to mention the batchat exists and does pretty much everything the 50B does but better.

Apparently this is a good tier 8 Clan Wars tank, at least that's what my friend told me. Anyways yeah I don't know why any of the tanks in the line are meds, because yeah absolutely the AMX 50B is a med and not a heavy ( Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the 50 in the name stand for 50ton or something? ).

50 is the weight class yeah, although it was trialled in 1950, coincidentally. I think the ARL44 was named in the year it was tested. I used to hate this tank, and the Lorraine. Pre 6.0 they were horrible guns with horrific aim time and accuracy.

Purely for matchmaking. So you don't end up with one of the amx series as your only top tier heavy and lose because of it. It cant perform the traditional heavy tank role. Meaning your team will most likely lose because you dont have anyone to lead the push if its your only top heavy. And the 50 100 is valuable in clan wars because it can clip out any tank of its tier 1 on 1 while being mobile enough to get to good positions.

Honestly the 50 100 would just need a little bit of gun handling buffs and it would be fine. Its the AMX 50 120 and AMX 50B that need it the most. Those 2 are severely powercrept since the T57 and Kranvagn lines came around. Both of which are better than Amx line.
