I loved this record as a kid. Watching this now makes me so sad because life has changed, I have changed, and the world has changed so much. These were simpler days, yet the words about Our Father are still true! A young Amy Grant and a younger me were brought together by this music. ❤😢

Be careful with that, you have alot to be grateful for. My son was 34 when fentenol took him, a new chapter began that fateful day. God bless you!

I was a young girl and a young Christian in 1985 when God led me to leave home which was very hard and go to a Christian seventh Day Adventist boarding school in Bismarck North Dakota. I learned many things there and they were some of the best years. And while I was there is when I first learned about Christian music other than the him as I sang at home in church. I lived in the dorm and there was a little church in the door when we had worship every night and you have to walk past the church to get to and fro to your classes and work and the cafeteria etc and many times as I was walking by I would hear a friend singing and playing Amy Grant on the piano and I had never heard of Amy Grant except for somebody saying they went to a concert when I was in my public high school back home for 2 years. I only heard her name once and I had no clue who she was. And I was amazed that there could be such beautiful modern Christian music and also that you could sing about other things in life not just Jesus even though that's the main focus. I was like wow they're singing about other things besides Jesus I thought Christian music was only about Jesus and of course it was good clean morals and all this only helped me grow in my walk with God along with the whole beautiful experiences of being at Dakota Adventist Academy for two years! From that point on I did everything I could to get Amy's music and I couldn't stop listening to it and it was such a big part of my Academy years in 85 to 87 and it continued to go with me. Her music has done more for me than any other person or avenue to help me to grow in my walk with God. Thank you Amy for all that you've done to help me grow in my walk with God and just enjoy a much happier life because of your ministry and music. I would love to meet you someday and I'd love to be your friend I just want you to know that I've been one of your biggest fans for so much of my life and I'm just now coming back fully to Jesus again and I'm trying to catch up with what I've missed three years while I'm still enjoying your old music. I love you Amy Grant and Rich blessings to you and your family! You'll never know how much your music did for me and all of my classmates along with Michael w Smith! This concert brought back so many memories and took me right back to my high school days and college days. You guys all did a great job and it was so good to see Gary also. 😘🥰💞

This concert reminds me of this wonderful Christian Conference I attended in 1983-1984 titled "KC83" sponsored by the Campus Crusade for Christ International. Christian students from all over the world attended! When we arrived in Kansas City, Missouri, I saw so many people from every race and Nationality! I thought I was in Heaven! 😊 I lived in DC at the time, and it was during the Winter break from college. All Marylanders, including from DC, rode the chartered bus from University of Maryland, College Park. Just about every student on that bus had Amy Grant's cassette tape they played in their walkman. 😁 Although I loved Sandy Patti, who was the guest Artist at the conference, I think Amy Grant would have been a more appropriate Artist! She was closer to our age. She was our peer! She was more relatable to us! I guess the Board that made decisions about the program was not ready for Amy's style yet. She was considered too radical for a lot of Christian organizations back then! 😁 Amy was a trailblazer! Now she is a legend! Thank you very much for posting this. I can watch an Amy Grant concert anytime I felt like it. I was watching this at 3:00 AM! 😁

This version of El Shaddai is what hooked me to Amy Grant and her music. The song is sung so passionately, it moved me so much I went out and bought all her records to date. I’ve never hear her sing the song again with such passion, which is a little unfortunate. And I can’t figure out why. But to hear a young woman about the same age as me sing a song so passionately about the Lord really gave me the confidence to be proud of my faith and speak freely about it. Thank you AG!

Even after almost 40 years! 2) "Sing Your Praises to the Lord" My, my, my! I think of some wild rockers crashing a delicate piano/ballet recital to pump up the atmosphere. Picture "Prince", the guitarist from "Queen" and "Ozzie" busting through the door with their guitars during the introduction, then the "recital" turns into a "JAM"!!! JAMMIN' for JESUS Yall!!!!!! 🎼🎶🎵🎹🎻🎸😊👏🎤🎉🎶💃🏃 Amy directed that thing boy! She was pumped! See Michael W. Smith do a head roll near the end of the song! (Not that kind.) 😄 Watch Gary and the other guitarist (Sorry I did not know his name) jump off the platform on cue! 😳They really had a blast!!!🎆 They were so young and full of energy!! Wow! What a treasure. I'll never forget being on a road trip with my high school choir and one of the other students was passing around a Walkman so everyone could hear an amazing new song. When it was my turn I put on the headphones and sat there in complete awe as I listened to El Shaddai for the first time. It was the most beautiful song I'd ever heard....the words, the music, her angelic voice...everything. I wanted to rewind the cassette so I could listen over and over but I reluctantly returned the Walkman because there were other kids waiting. As soon as we got home I bought the "Age to Age" album. Over the years I've come to appreciate her even more. I love the way that she's so unpretentious. She never pretends to be perfect....just a woman who loves her Savior, striving to do her best and in need of God's grace and mercy just like the rest of us. I'm so grateful for the influence that her beautiful music has had in my life. And thanks to whoever posted this. It made an amazing soundtrack for my morning workout!

Oh my word...... My mother had this tour on VHS many many years ago. I thought I'd look it up here and wow.... it was on laser disc, too eh? You know what's crazy is that I had never even heard of laser disc until the late 1990's. It seems only people with lots of money owned those things, and here I thought our first VCR cost a fortune, and it was a floor model for a little over four hundred dollars..... back in the 1980's. Four hundred dollars back then was your rent AND your utility bills for the month. To us that was priceless then as home entertainment was very very pricy back then. I knew of homes back then that didn't even have television sets, let alone VCR's and Video Cassettes. Yikes! I remember going to The Disney Store and their VHS movies were anywhere from sixty to seventy dollars back then.... back when Disney was Disney and not the Woke sexualization of children we see nowadays with "Disney". But I remember this video fondly. My mother was a huge Amy Grant fan back then. My gosh we were so young then. So was Amy Grant, though. It really does show how short life really is when you think about it in this world. Thank God for eternity!

@@corrinagrantgill3236 I've listened to your dad since the 90's, I think. I like the way he writes, plays guitar, mandolin, etc. I like the way he can finesse a note when he sings, and he has a great sense of humor 😂❤️

@@pamelawheeless8090 yes, I went the Unguarded concert in New Orleans and in 2015 I went to see her in Meridian, MS. I took my daughter and we spent the night. We were on one one the very top rows but we saw her!! It was a very nice, relaxed mood concert. I loved it!

1:07:55 Caramba!!!! Eu viajo nesse instrumental de "Where do you hide your heart". Muito bom! Perfeita essa postagem, Bosco Vieira!! Deus te abençoe!!!! Amy, WOW!!!! É perceptível a definição vocal dela nessa época. Dos agudos aos graves, com voz RASGADA!! A canção "Don´t Run Away está muito bem arranjada. O Gary cantando muito bem a canção "Finally". Sem falar no Michael tocando piano!!! " in a little while" muito boa também!! O show todo é bom!!

Great concert! The melody between 1:20:11 and 1:20:49 wasn't composed by Michael W. Smith like I supposed it had been. It actually was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. It's the piece "Fugue No.2 in C minor".

It was composed by Rich Mullins (adapted from Bach).

Came here to remember where my personal faith journey with Jesus began with Amy’s music in the early 80’s. I can definitely understand why Rambling Ray would say (not the exact words) listening to Amy Grant is Church.

Anyone know where this concert took place? I saw Amy with my friends back in 1983. It was this tour and the concert was held at the Denver First Church of the Nazarene. They had a great venue. It was a good concert. Michael W. Smith opened for her as well as playing in the band.
