I love watching Amy cook. Her recipes are so home cook friendly with simple ingredients that normal people have or at least familiar to them. No "what the hell is that?" ingredients just normal ones. Love your show Amy!!

I agree sanitation's important but there has been many times for Amy will touch raw chicken and not wash your hands and then go toss the salad with your fingers that have been touching chicken. Then there are times she will get a spoon and dip it and some kind of a sauce taste it and put that very same spoon back in the sauce.... Other times she'll get food on her fingers and pop those fingers in her mouth on lick them and then use the same licked finger to start peeling something or another... There's a lot of cross-contamination in that kitchen.

Amy thank you thank you for this recipe as I love coconut cream pie, and I would improvise a pastry bag with a gallon size plastic bag and snip one of the corners of it and push in the little plastic nozzle and just scoop the whipping cream into the bag and twist the bag and it works great. No need to buy a pastry bag.

Totally with you....make dessert without the " LOW" stuff. I have a recipe for a toasted coconut cheesecake and it uses coconut CREAM.... Well, no one in the grocery had a clue what I was asking about. I actually called the chef the recipe came from, wonderful man, and he told me where to find it. This was long before Thai food came into popularity. It turned out INCREDIBLE......and the chef was my hero!

I am positive your coconut pies are delicious, this one of my favorites and brings back so many memories of my Mother, my Grand Mother's and even Great Grand Mother's pies. They always used fresh coconuts in their pies they saved the milk from the Nut and hand grated the coconut for the pie, wonderful old German Jewish recipes similar to your recipie.
