Congrats on continuing your education. Rewriting class notes and color coordination helped me get straight A's. Ask the instructor if you can record the lecture (some say yes). This way you can review something you may have missed. During their office hours, introduce yourself. Sit in the front of the class. When taking exams, use erasable pens. They say it doesn't matter if you cross something out, but it looks better. Get one of two student's contact info from each class. Starting a study group of max four is wise to really understand concepts especially detailed information such as medical/legal topics. Wishing you all the best.

Yay school supplies!!! So much fun. I love those colored flags for marking things up. I am a pen and paper notes person, but I did finally get the iPad Pro with pencil and actually the experience is pretty good. You still get a lot of the tactile sensation of writing by hand. And you can carry many many “notebooks” full of notes and ebooks and documents with you without the weight. But I do have to charge the battery more often than I’d like.

I was on that medicine for almost 3 years. I used it for depression and anxiety and I didn’t have any side effects up until about 4 months ago I was on 90 mg a day and it started making me feel zombie like and I had no feelings at all so we lowered the dose which made me feel more depressed so now I’m on something else and I feel “normal” again.

Hi Amy, I've been on duloxetine very briefly for depression and nerve pain. I found it really helped with the pain, but it zapped me of emotion and I had trouble speaking and writing which was a bit scary. I also had a very dry mouth and had a feeling of not being real or an out of body kind of sensation. I got off of this medication very quickly! I hope your symptoms improve or you are prescribed something that you tolerate better

Hi Amy! I was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2013 and have finished chemo two years ago. I really struggle with chronic fatigue and lots of symptoms from chemo and I absolutely love watching your videos! I was on fluoxetine as an anti depressant and found it brilliant but it stopped working after a year and I was changed to sertraline 100mg every night and so far it has worked well for me for three years now:) lots of love xxxx

One thing I did in school was instead of using notebooks I put loose leaf paper in a binder and took notes. That way if you need to reorganize you don't have to start over and waste notebook space. It worked really well for me through college and graduate school.

Welcome to college Amy, lol! No but seriously, if there is anything I hate really really bad it would be being late to an appointment or being given too short a notice to get ready. But I quickly discovered that in the college world, being early means being right on time and being on time means being 5 minutes late!!! Like, some Professors do send the syllabuses early and make the contents of their lecture available beforehand so you can prep but most of them will send you the syllabus the day before or the day of the first lecture and you will only have access to their content AFTER the actual lecture. The first time I showed up 15 minutes early to an appointment with my academic counsellor his secretary was like, ''Oh, but your appointment isn't until quite a while, you are very early so sit down''. Also, pro-tip from a student: don't procure all the textbooks and workbooks until you've been to the first lecture. Most of the time you won't need to buy the whole list but only one or two. Unless you don't mind spending the money but college textbooks can be quite expensive even when you buy them secondhand.

I’m on the same exact thing but 60mg. I think the doctor wanted me on it just in case and for sleep as I have chronic illness as well. I got so thirsty the first couple days but then it kind of went back to normal. Tbh I think my body has gotten use to it and it doesn’t really do anything now.

had to stop metoclopromide for exactly that reason. those "twitches" got too serious, and even if they are just "twitches" for you, you might want to consider stopping. i know with gastroparesis any antiemetic/antinausea medication is vital, but those side effects can sometimes become permanent (it's called "tardive dyskinesia", which means those twitches become irreversible). the reason they happen is metoclopromide works on the brain, as far as my mom managed to explain it to me. anyway, even though metoclopromide is a good one for sickness, i'd recommend stopping using it ASAP even if you're only having minor twitches. for me, it affected my muscles all over and spread to my speech as well. it's not worth it, especially for you, since you already sometimes struggle with walking (it can affect legs too). it's supposed to be a drug used for short-term problems, but as you/we know with gastroparesis -- that nausea doesn't go away. i used it for about 4-5months straight which is why it caused problems. sorry for the huge lot of text! i just felt like i needed to warn you about that particular drug. whenever i go into hospital now i have a red armband (allergy armband) that warns them not to give me metoclopromide.

I was on the highest dose of duloxetine for pain and depression but fond it didn't rally help me with either. I didn't really have any bad side effects but now I think about it, dry mouth was definitely a mild one for me and we are fairly certain it caused water retention as I've been off them for a month now and my face and chin look less swollen than while I was on them. They caused me to gain weight because I was comfort eating due to my mood being uncontrolled but also due to the water retention. I really hope they help your pain. My next one to try is tapentadol.

I took duloxetine (cymbalta) for about 5 years for depression and anxiety. It really helped those things. I also have hEDS/chronic pain, but it didn't affect my pain levels. I was on 20/30mg for the first 4 years, and my dose was upped to 50mg in the last year (I took 2 pills-- a 20mg and 30mg). I just came off cymbalta in May 2018 after realizing that I had been experiencing side effects for the last 5 years I was on it. I spent 3 months tapering down my dose, and I still had an awful 2 weeks of withdrawal. The first week was constant, intense vertigo. By the second week the vertigo had faded, but I was experiencing mild nausea and appetite loss. The side effects while I was taking it included occasional vertigo/feeling of disorientation, like the world would just suddenly shift. I remember stumbling around my high school because my vision would just suddenly shift. It took me years to realize this feeling was from the medication because I kept denying the possibility. The first two weeks and the last two weeks that I was on it were the worst. Even after being on it for a while, if I missed a pill, vertigo ensued. Sometimes it kicked in the day I missed; sometimes it kicked in after I took the next pill on the following day. I tried switching my pills from morning to night (to avoid vertigo attacks in the daytime), and for the next few weeks I would get the vertigo feeling within 30 mins after taking my pill at bedtime. I wouldn't recommend cymbalta unless it's a last resort, especially because of the withdrawal symptoms.
@gabbihenderson51906 жыл бұрын
I felt the same after going off of the duloxetine, I ran out of it and stopped going to my neuro(we decided the headaches were related to POTS and other stuff) so I couldn’t get it refilled. The vertigo was so intense it felt like the world was tilting or something. I told my ep cardiologist and he put me back on it because it apparently helps with vasoconstriction. I went back on it and Im soon gonna be upping my dose again

I had them duloxatine hun and if I rember right I marked off about about 8 symptoms that's was very sever but I react really badly to all medication. So the bowel specalest have have me on more things to try out and see if they will help. He wants to try as much as he can b4 doing the illostomy bag 🤕😢 but it's horrendous and so bad and he feels bad as he knows I react so bad to most meds. (I feel like a test puppet) But waiting on the professor he added to my team and then we will see if they will try and NJ tub or go right to a PEG or PEG-J..... I was holding my weight ok for ages but the last month n half i have dropped 12lb and I got people saying Im look to thin and face is sunken (i needed and want to loose a little but didnt want to lose it in the illness way 😢😢) But I'm still over 9 st but I look slim at this weight but healthy (even though I'm.so far from healthy, i dont rember the meaning of that word no more) but I know it's not healthy and Think I need bloods and vitamins checked as cfs is so bad, gums r pail white looking, palpitations r worse but that could just be my post... and few other things. But I was always so tiny, I'm talking size 4 was 2 big for me I was very low in weight (I won't say what I was though) but I'm onlt 5ft 4 so not as bad as it is for someone taller than me, It took me years n yeas to get to a healthy weight then I had my massive knee operations on both knees to stabilise them and then become wheelchair bound when going out and in flaire more times than not and needing help to shower or bath, wash my hair and my health was going down faster and faster and they was saying fibro till I got EDS,PoTS, CFS,GASTROPARESIS and a few other since then and also a few damaged joints all.over my body... and then it got i could bearly get 1200 calories in me and this was due to I could only eat tiny bit and i was full, in agony, feeling so sick,.sometimes being sick but thought it was from gallstones but turns itwas them and my hiatul hernia and my gastroparesis doing that. I now know what I have after years of no one listening and thinking I had a eating condition. But not I'm on fortisips and I have hot chocolate with cream when I can. I may punch a few chips or bits of pasta a few times a week off my partner when i feel i can, but the last 5-7 weeks I'm Lucky if I get the full amount of one fortisip in me and then m other calories are from cups of tea and hot chocolate and cream... so lucky to have 650-850 calories and now my body is dropping weight. It seems like im just hold my weight and then all of a sudden I lost a few pound..I'm glad and lucky I have weight on me to lose but I and feeling like I'm getting a little malnurishied now and lacking what my body needs. The pain from is agony drinks, I know u understand so very much hun. I been told about 6 month to see the professor. I'm a bit naughty and won't go to a&e..I got to get in a really really bad way b4 I give in and I don't help myself most the time xxx
