That woman deserved a better man A better life A better reputation She deserves to be remembered for her talent not her downfall

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how she could have a better reputation. If anything, I think her sad death has caused people to credit her too much, as good as she was. She has an absolutely stellar reputation.
@Peach527

@@jamesrawlings5781 pfft, not even true. She was an original raw talent with her own style, almost unheard of at the time when autotune was taking over. I'm not necessarily a jazz fan, prefer hard rock thru and thru, but I certainly recognize talent. I mean, can we hear your voice and the songs you've written?

Sexy, savage! I met her once in Manchester, sitting alone outside after a performance at a tiny bar, having a smoke. Nobody knew who she was - she was just starting, trying to make it in music. She was sweet, so much tinier than you'd imagine. I asked her out, but she was going back to London. One of the highlights of my life, for real. I miss her so much, still heartbroken all these years later. Love you, and I'm not ashamed to say it.

Amy, like so many exceptionally talented women, is a raw nerve--totally exposed despite the brutal honesty, humor, and 'toughness' of the words she sings. True artists tear themselves open for us to re-experience our very human existences. Power and vulnerability displayed going head-to-head--such brilliance and poignant beauty.

It’s crazy that people are saying she looks healthy here, but in the documentary AMY her mother mentions that Amy was battling what was essentially bulimia since she was 14 or 15.... eating disorders as severe as hers were, or of any severity, are no joke. Many people die of eating disorders alone purely because of the damage it does to your body, specifically your heart- some die in the process or after they recover. Her story just breaks my heart. She will never be forgotten as long as humanity exists. Such a unique soul with an everlasting impact who never truly got what she deserved- true love and support. Edit: some of you really need a reading comprehension class, my goodness.
@buckrogers6378
@buckrogers6378 3 жыл бұрын
You begin making an important point, but then you perpetuate the very myths and misinformation associated with eating disorders that allow them to remain hidden. You are assuming that those who have bulimia are all going to outwardly appear sick, or should be noticed simply by looking. This can be true, but often isn't. Just like you mention heart damage as a serious internal result, we can't just 'see' this outwardly. Of course people are going to say she looks healthy, because oftentimes eating disorders do not affect physical appearance for many, many years. So, to shame people for simply saying what they see further damages people from openly discussing questions and confusion related to eating disorders. This doesn't help anyone. It is okay if people are confused as to bulimia, it's signs, as that is an opportunity to educate and promote conversation.
@kaykaybee

@@buckrogers6378 uh, I’m sorry, where did I assume that? People often don’t say anything about Amy Winehouse’s ED in this era of hers because it has only been revealed in the past few years that she had a heavy battle with bulimia from the time she was a young teen to the time she died - if anything, I’m showing the opposite of what you commented by posting this comment, because within this comment it makes people aware that even though she APPEARS healthy, she is not. Also I wasn’t shaming anybody, I was just saying IT is crazy that people comment this because it literally shows how hidden ED’s can be... not that people are crazy because they can’t see it. As someone who has fought two ED’s the majority of my life, and have never outwardly been that “body type” you spoke of, i would never spread lies or misinformation or shame about ED’s. It kinda sounds like you’re the one that’s assuming things due to lack of reading comprehension, but, thats neither here nor there. The 42 people who thumbs upped this comment got what I meant so 🤷

So before i make judgement on whether someone looks healthy or not i first need to watch a documentary and find out what their mother say's to find out what health issue's she/he has? Amy did look fantastic in this video. To me she looked beautiful, healthy and sexy. At the time i was unaware of her personal problems and i am most certainly not crazy.

@@buckrogers6378 no she just meant that "it's crazy" that people won't notice that someone is battling with something medical because it does not convey to one's appearance. the idea that you will get past a random girl whose battling an ed and you wouldn't even be given a tad bit of a clue that she's going through a very rough time because she looks 'meh' is kind of crazy if you think about it. same as you wouldn't notice that some person had just gotten stabbed because the jacket is on and he tries to hide it on purpose anyway is absolutely a screwed up concept and it's just crazy. think about how many people you encounter everytime you go grocery shopping and none of them you've ever suspected having huge scars beneath their clothing but there absolutely was/were ( ...person/people whom did have.. but til this day it's unknown and will remain one), don't you think it's kind of a little screwed up that we're living in a world full of broken souls with saddening behind-the-scenes but a few to nobody ever notices because we had no clue? just a thought-provoking comment... :( invisibility of these circumstances and cases is so sad and heartbreaking. they're so hidden, so unnoticeable, and that is why the people barely receive help that they need. as someone with an invisible disability, it made me realized how screwed up my life is and how many times i will most likely get invalidated again cuz i look normal anyway. you wouldn't suspect im chronically disabled.

She's so beautiful.when I see pix of her so skinny and high I just wanna hold her and tell her Jesus loves her. Idk why someone...someone didn't help her before she got that bad.anyways to someone...there's hop a in Jesus.he set me free.hell set u free.try Him.ask seek knock.

I'm not a expert on A.W....in fact I didn't even discover her music until after her death. But once I heard those pipes of hers ...WOW it was instant love. Soon after I began to read about her ups and down's in life and her struggle with addiction. How sad the only way she knew how to ask for help was through her music. I'd also teach my niece to not be like the girl in the song, because expecting the boyfriend to be "manly and emotionally stronger" and to suggest that this is weakness, un-manliness or worse "gayness" is a dangerous and outdated ideal

I spent tonight listening to the album Frank. Listening to Amy Winehouse is both good and bad . It brings up alot of painful memories. But I wouldn't change anything. Thank you Amy for all the memories

She should have just let music be her drug of choice. We could still be enjoying her live.

She just had a lot of issues (starting with eating disorders) and didn't know how to handle them... She lived too intensely and loved really passionately. Her emotions took over her, and by the time she tried to take back control, it was too late. It's very sad so many people just realise she made amazing music and had one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, only when she was already gone...

I mean, the rest of the lyrics are implying men shouldn't feel emotions or want to talk about them; she even goes so far as to ask "are you gay"? So...... I personally don't think we should confine men to those roles.
