I'm a very new investor. I'm using very little of my own money for this AMZY ETF investment. I'm mostly using other peoples money! $6500 personal loan which is going to be covered by other passive income I've created over the last few years and $5500 of margin. I can always sell out of margin with a push of a button. I can always sell out of the position if something doesn't look right. We can do whatever we want to do to combat nav erosion.
I'm taking risk. But I'm also coming up with my own strategies to minimize that risk.
I'm not worried about a one month decline. But of course, everything is subject to change. Good luck to you and be smart!

Think about this rule for these ETFs. Only dollar cost average down if the stock drops -10% or more and/or the stock has dropped the amount of its declared dividend. Use +10% for core selling with only these small amounts we have invested. If a stock drops -25% stop adding to the account, your window to invest is -10% to -25% if you want to stay in for the dividends. Adding a three level STOP at -10, -15 -20% might also save you some down side pain. Note even a 3 to 6 % stop if you want to save your principal in a crash.

I am watching the NAV erosion as well on AMZY. I feel like AMZN is a pretty steady and gradually increasing stock so I think we are in a good position. Looking forward to seeing what happens next week.

Thanks for sharing. Been watching oracle and understand strategy, however, I don't see how you say there's no risk in leveraged amount since you have to make payment necessary until that amount is paid off? If the value goes under your leveraged amount, that's a loss. Understanding that one still has to survive the timeline to offset initial investment.

The only risk is that I will be stuck with a $140 payment for 60 months. However, I have other passive income to cover the $140 should amzy go to zero. I'm also using $5500 of margin from fidelity. If I get a margin call I either add money or sell some amzy to meet the call. I would probably sell some amzy to meet the call. Also I have plenty of money just to pay off the $6500. I want to make money from leveraged monies...not my own money. I can always sell the whole position at any time if something doesn't feel right.....

their dividend will go down forever and they also get taxed. if ur working and getting dividends you will owe a lot in taxes

Their divs have been going up? Would you rather earn money and pay taxes or make zero money and pay zero taxes?

Those who are enamored by these investment vehicles, please don't disregard the price performance of the underlying asset. Buying into an overbought stock in an euphoric market environment is a recipe for disaster.

no disrespect, but when you say you using "other people's money" you sound like you dont need to pay them back... lol regardless if its margin or borrow you still need to pay them back, even if those money goes to 0 you still owe them until you finish paying them. lol

It will be NONE of his personal money out of pocket. Technically he pays zero! Zero cost = free, correct? The investment pays the loan. Like a zero down rental property, you would say he was smart letting the tenants pay for the house. He bought Amzy house. He could always find another tenant if they can't pay! 😜

Let me explain this to you. You have passive income and the fund itself pay the loan/margin the fund gets paid off. Your other passive income and the funds income pays you still. You take both of those and build another fund and pull in more income. That income and fund cost never came out of his pocket. It cost you nothing.Thats free money. You do that enough and you are rich. Leverage and speed of money is the only way you’ll get rich not saving not working overtime. Only leveraging other people’s time or other people’s money.
