I have a K2 5" chipper with a 10 HP Kohler gas engine that easily handles 3" diameter branches and will also handle shorter 4 inch sections. It has a chute that is long enough that you can't possibly get ;your hand down to the blades. It is just a little hard to start when it's cold, and usually starts on the second or third pull. The chipping area has two swing-out joints that allow cleanout of any blockages, which is much better than its competition. The chipper weighs about 300 pounds and can be pulled behind a 4 wheeler or tractor. I have cleared out a good-sized area that we low along a rive on part of our property. rK2 is located in Canada.
