@45:55 The 14 break out was here with the 12, punch under the 2 with outside. Bridge would have been a little tough, but you can do this. However, making him deal with the 6/14 is not a bad idea also. @47:05 1-pocket speed bank the 9 to the top left and take away his 5. If you make it, you might even have a shot on the 13. The double kiss is definitely possible, but you don't have much of a better option. @49:18 👏👏👏 if the 8 is not an issue. @1:03:15 In these situations it is natural to leave ourselves pretty straight on the 8, and our inclination is to want that, but sometimes that gets us into trouble; especially in 9 ball and on a 9 footer. Good out tho. @1:08:40 You are up 6-0. Would love to see you be a little creative, and run into the 9 with just a little speed SVP style. I did not comment on Ron Part II, but much less stress & frustration watching you. Enjoyed it DVP! look forward to the next one!

15:59 I really appreciate your thoughts here. I’m a 21 year old who’s just started getting into the game and this is my first APA session. I’ve been playing for a very short time but I already love the game and I already feel the urge to play it all the time. It’s just a great game for all ages. I’ve seen retired people, people in their 30’s and 40’s, as well as people closer to my age. Maybe it’s a bit hasty but I can see myself doing this for a long time, maybe even until I drop like you say lol. Love your channel Drew!

Great American pastime, this game. Glad you’re on board 🤙🏼 make sure you have the straight-line safety in your bag dude, and holler if I can help make sense of any strategies that may be over your head at the moment 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼

35:26 tap the 3 on the left side (looking at the 3 from the cue ball). easy safety as a righty. doesn't need a bridge. hopefully the 3 covers the 8. if not, forces you to at least bank the 8 in the side.

33:38 right when I saw this I saw the issue. That 11 ball leaving last as your key ball, especially from the 12? in the side. I think making the 11 in the right side and rolling forward for the 14 then the those two balls left. Hard to mess up. Then the 12 in the side and 8 anywhere.
@drewvonporte19 күн бұрын
I love comments like this. I went to that ball in hand, and agreed right away (now, in hindsight) that the 12 and 11 are actually awkward bc of the big 8-ball between them. I used the BIH to make sure i hit those 3 correct up top instead, when that 14 ties me back to them all day. You’re 100% right dude!!

I agree with having someone watch the shot any time it’s close but there’s a problem when you’re playing APA. Ultimately the call comes down to the shooter. That’s why I video the contact. That way it can be played back slowly and there’s no question about the contact.

at 36:19 i would have hit the 3 softly and blocked the cue path to the 8 with the 3 so you would have to bank the 8 the long way. not that it is that hard for a 7 to come 1 or 2 rails to make the 8 when it is that close to the corner.
@drewvonporteАй бұрын
For me? It’s IMPOSSIBLE! Yes!!! I 100% agree!!! DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS and he chose to go offensive!
@nickg9021Ай бұрын
Mike's final shot in rack 3 . I think his best choice would have been a soft roll up to the left side of the 3 , leaving the cue ball on the short rail and moving the 3 into a blocking position. Even failing to get you snookered , the 8 was not a hanger . I'd have preferred leaving you a table length kick rather than the low percentage 4 ball and counting on getting shape on the 3 or the 1 . Maybe Mike isn't confident on that type of play ,however . He had to do what he was comfortable with . For me , I KNOW I could have left you with nothing but the long kick .
@drewvonporteАй бұрын
Bro thats cuz you KNOW I cant kick for sh*t!!! 🤣🤣 Ha! No I agree though… hes old school, and I feel like those guys see a kick like that as an “easy” shot (which is NOT true), and don’t feel it’s ‘safe enough’?… thatd be my guess

I agree with getting someone to watch. It's like scratching a chalk board going back and fourth with the player. If you playing a true upper level player they know how to tell. It's always watch and look for motion and the correct motion of the balls. The first game he could have really locked you up. I have the same sentiment about not racking on the spot. Am I the only one that does? If I see the whole spot I say something and now I either ask to rack my own or just really play a safe lock up game especially 9ball. It's always a lower rated player that always moves and stands in my view. Not to mention constant talking about our shot selections with their team. Being a SL7 you're have a target on your back. I don't play for blood like I used to and most tables I can't slow role any shot. I've lost too many games from table roll. Not complaining it's just another hurdle.
