You should test it with an iPhone 8 or iPhone X running iOS 11. They still have the AirPower animations baked into the software! Wonder if this could trigger them

Pretty late to the party but the animations aren’t baked into the software. They are downloaded from Apple servers triggered by something called ChargingViewService in early iOS 11. That app was removed in 11.2.

You should do more in-depth videos, you didn't even try the other prototype. Also it would be cool to see if an iPhone with an old enough iOS recognizes that it's an AirPower and does the animation that they showed on stage.

No that was an innovation that apple had to cancel because it failed, unlike any wireless charger this was supposed to charge your device no matter where or how you placed it on the charger, that’s why it has so many coils

@@Barron_NY, AirPower worked but it had bad heating issues. They couldn’t resolve it so it got cancelled. Engineers argued. They cursed. They were done.
