So. this is Part 1 of two videos I made from the footage I got during 3 hrs I had on a river on 15th Sept 2023 , pre-work and managed to catch and return three salmon/grilse, all caught on the fly. I was absolutely over the moon and it took my seasonal tally of salmon and grilse to 6 fish, caught and returned.

i fish a very small club spate river near Carradale on the kintyre peninsula , this season i caught my first 3 salmon ever on the fly , i lost about half a dozen due to inexperience and they were all from september onwards . i believe i was the only angler in the club to catch a salmon from our burn this season , but i also believe i was the only angler fishing consistently a few hours per week or anytime there was water . ours is also cat 3 no take . i think if more anglers fished the catch rates would show some improvement in the west coast waters , sadly lots of members who recall the glory days before salmon farms and forestry will not bother to get out the rods unless they hear of fish getting caught. if people dont fish they are not catching ! very nice looking wee water there , it looks familiar although i have never fished it , well done on the wee grilse
