Dr. Saniya Ghanoui presents "An American Myth: Birth Control, Sex Education, and the Creation of the Swedish Sin." This talk was part of the Swenson Center's 40th Anniversary Symposium "The Migration and Beyond: New Perspectives on Swedish-American Relations." Ghanoui examines the intersections of gender and sexuality, medicine, and media with an emphasis on transnational history. She is currently the Program Director for Our Bodies Ourselves Today in the Center for Women’s Health and Human Rights at Suffolk University, Boston and is working on the publication "Translating Sex Culture: Transnational Sex Education and the U.S.-Swedish Relationship, 1910s-1960s."
