Why didn't the Japanese producers and writers try harder to bring all of Ash's old friends into the final episode? I always say because the final episode isn't complete without all of Ash's friends. The Japanese producers and writers don't want to continue with Ash getting together with all his friends to fight Team Rocket, they don't want to plan Ash and Giovanni's final battle, they just keep ignoring all the plans.

Well can't blame since there were many problems, especially with the voice actors/actresses,....that might be the reason why they couldn't bring everyone reunited together. Also, just like you said in the end, I'm agree because even though Pokémon Journeys have ended pretty well, they might have ignored many important things (Especially from XYZ series, you already knew why). But still, can't blame them in the end because of 2 things: 1st: The Pokémon anime is mainly for kids 2nd: Because they wanted to make the fresh new start with two new main characters a.k.a Liko and Roy, who are now the main spotlights of the anime. And of course, I'm honestly love it and enjoy every episodes of Horizons Anyway, i hope you will understand them and still support for their efforts 😁😁😇😇

Misty's relationship with ash was like an ex girlfriend that's long gone. Dawn's relationship with ash was like a rebound relationship after a broken relationship with her children's father paul didn't workout and it won't ultimately work with ash either but she is a good friend. Serena's relationship with ash is the perfect relationship. She is in another country kalos and ash will have too wait and fly her too palet town too stay with him forever.
