Great video and reaction, love these two! Also, summary of Battlefield 2042 criticism OUTSIDE of the bugs: - the game is basically a watered down version of past titles, with many features removed and simplified (no leaning, for example!) - gun play also feels more stiff and Arcady compared to past titles. - the introduction of specialists is also sucky, since now there are 128 of the same faced people instead of uniformed diverse soldiers. - there is also a lack of content: the game has less than 30 guns in total, and balancing isn’t ideal (for context, Battlefield 4 on release had more than half the number of PISTOLS than 2042’s TOTAL firearms count!) The battlefield Portal mode is the only thing that is cool, but only because it is based on PAST games. Overall, 2042 feels like a total rework with a completely new team making it, taking away provenly good things and replacing them with poorly considered ones.

i would disagree on one thing never use bf4 as reference to the how much guns battlefield should have that game had 6x more guns than it actually needed to but yes 2042 had 1/4 the amount of guns battlefield games normally have

@@yokai1235 Eh, I'd rather have way too many guns I don't need rather than have very few guns to choose from that I'll get bored of. I like to hop into Hardcore in BF4 and test out the lesser used weapons, it keeps things interesting and gives me a reason to keep playing.

I feel like there has to be a drawn line between not minding TOO much and legitimate complacency with terrible marketing tactics. Most gamers have crossed that line into complacency with companies releasing unpolished products, as literally stated by Badger in the video. There indeed has to be a point where gamers have to grow tired of this or it’ll continue to even greater heights.

When it comes to my opinion of BF2042, I suppose it would be similare to my feelings towards BF4, it released in a buggy nearly unplayable mess that eventually got to a good point where the game is fun, stable, and has a healthy playerbase. BF4 is one of my favorite multiplayer games of all time with some of my favorite memories of playing any game period. That doesn't take away the fact that the game was buggy and broken on launch, but it did get to a point where I'm not actively dreading bugs and connection issues but instead I'm actually enjoying the game and having a fun time.

They should react to (the late) Kitty0706's Garry's Mod animated series, "Moments with Heavy", first starting with "Moments with Heavy: Heavy Orders an Xbox 360" and ending with "Team Fabulous 2". Would make for a fun time seeing how people in the acting/creative space would react to seeing someone simply using a game and many assets/techniques to create comedic animated shorts!

Another thing to keep in mind with this game is that this video was on the BETA. If it were the full release then yes the bugs and net code being ass would have been unacceptable but the beta who cares

I will say that with the thing of people still enjoying cyberpunk despite it's flaws mostly comes down to luck because some people will have a game breaking bug almost every minute but other people such as me who played it maybe a month after release had virtually no bugs and crashed maybe 5 times throughout the entire campaign of the game

Badger is the type of guy to not really care if things are polished, he cares if things are fun. In several other videos he has stated things that he has problems with but ultimately doesnt care because it was fun nonetheless. Does this excuse the games unfinished state? No. Does this mean that the hate is justified? Cant say. All iknow is that pissing and moaning about a game, but still playing said game you are pissing and moaning about is pretty childish.

These days the term unplayable is a mixed bag. There are people that do suffer genuine problems that makes games unplayable. Yet there is a community that also say unplayable simply for petty things without really diving to deep in the game. I have seen people dismiss and not like games simply because of graphics being not so great, or that the other player beat them because button lag issues that they are not even sure is the issue. It has caused game reviews to become a hotpot of potential problems these days. And honestly especially for beta its should be 110% expected to have bugs. It's the test before the approval stage and some parts of the community simply dont have the patience anymore to even tolerate anything destroying their game experience be it completely reasonable issues or the game not running to their own expectations. Companies should always flush out all they can before their release to avoid completely unplayable bugs and breaks. However they can be pressured from other sources that only see the money to release early, but consumers should also have patience and not shun a game for cracks that are bound to happen especially when not giving ample time to fully experience a game since many people only play 2 - 4 hours before dropping it while others play polished games for hundreds of hours but still say its broken.

I'm with badger on this. That ship has sailed. It was always like this, and nobody cares. The people most certainly proved that to EA with Battlefield 4 especially. Plus who do you think Badger is. He's not a champion of the unheard and even if he tried to "speak up" the problems or rally people for whatever cause, it's not going to mean anything. Especially not to EA. They're not as out of touch as people claim them to be. They listened. They learned. Battlefield 4 taught them, they can get away with anything. They will keep doing what they're doing until the gov' gets onto them. Or until the competition is competent. So yeah, I wouldn't care either.

I'm in agreement with Zack this should not be the exception whats worse is 2042 is more buggy and had longer development time than battlefield 4 and that had an immensely smaller budget it it came out while buggy but in a still playable state a channel I watch that played it for a few weeks basically said that he is not going to touch another battlefield product ever again and he's been with the franchise for a long time if you've got long time fans and players of the game dropping the series as a whole because there's so many problems that is when you need to stop releasing these buggy half assed products its dishonest and in some cases like fallout 76 criminal where they sold it full price instead of at the price a game in alpha might cost like ark did it was nice and cheap early on and they slowly improved it that price I can I understand but when you release a new game for full price and its basically still in development cause there so many problems that to far in my book.

I support Badger's point of view here. Even if I am not so much into Battlefield series nowadays, and I’m thinking that every earlier Battlefield game could be better, I always said that people shouldn’t take the bugs too seriously and ruin the fun for themselves. Take Fallout 76, for example. When this MMO first came out in 2018, it was a buggy mess without NPCs, and with cheaters, TOXIC PVP players, and a lot of enemies, that may overpower low-level players (this is when you, with your low-level character, met level 50+ enemies in some locations) and I loved it even then and I consider myself lucky not to encounter any problems or cheaters or toxic players myself, only with high-level enemies back at that time. And people hated the game in 2018-2020 for that. But now, after three years, Bethesda has finally outdone themselves and fixed almost all the bugs, making Fallout 76 almost ideal MMO Action RPG, which makes me love it even more. Same with TES Online, which also has a lot of problems when came out in 2015, but now is a good, overall, MMO RPG)) almost the same story goes for Cyberpunk 2077. I'm just having fun with these games, and haters should really move away from gaming IMHO if they didn't understand that even an unpolished game may be fun)))

Yeah. The game is not in a good place, but all these people acting as if it is the worst thing to happen in the history of humankind are overblowing it imo. The game has some changes that are a matter of taste (Specialists) and some issues that are straight up bad, but i think these can be ironed out (Performance, Balance). The game is not bad. Its not finished, and we should absolutely blame EA/DICE for that, but the game can be very fun when its actually running. I would not recommend anyone to buy it in its current state, but i do believe it at least has a chance to make a comeback. Edit: In my best Theoden impression : It is over. I doubt the game will recover now. Good job EA/Dice.

The thing is. This game had a long development time and was hyped like crazy and it came out feeling like it has been watered down. That is not a sign of a good game. Especially that specialist one, if it is TF2 then yeah sure i dont mind seeing similar faces, its even in the cinematics and they make it as if its the lore that blu and red have same faces. BUT battlefield is not a cartoony shooter, even in the trailer everyone looks like uniformed, diverse and faceless soldiers. Fking Mordhau have 10x more customization that i can remember almost every player i fought just from their looks (i havent even met a single player that looks like me), funny that it is a slightly older game made by a probably smaller company than Dice and probably with less budget and they did it RIGHT. Its fun, you can mess around or you can just go sweaty and decapitate every single limb of your enemy. Its not just pick a class and congrats you look like half of the player in the server. Wtf. They were supposed to be improving the game, sure make some creative and innovative changes, but dont remove the good stuff.

There was a bit of an overreaction with this game's release... the technical issues were severe but whining to a billion dollar company and turning the community into a negative and toxic mess wasn't going to accelerate things or do anything. People that said they liked the game or even simply didn't hate it were getting blasted while everyone that was on the hate train were in this constant circle-jerk.

i like his video but this one just plain wrong. maybe he done it when it just beta but class system is gone which is main attraction of battle field since battle field 1. this also one of the reason where people accept shit product and consume hopieum and expect that game company like EA to spend more money to FINISH their game where most people that will buy it already buy it. think about it. you spend less money build shitty game and get ton of money. why spend more money to get a lot less money? Yea there will be backlash but they just release some minor fix to the game for a few month. and when people stop paying attention they just not care or release some minor fix once every month or two. they do this a lot if you paid attention. cyberpunk is doing just the same. 6 month pass media attention die down. they just downside the dedication to fix the game. now only moder do the work that should fall into developer shoulder. STOP PRE-ORDER. AND IF THE GAME IS SHIT JUST REFUND IT. Let see if any AAA game dare to release in shit condition when their last game get 50% refund.

Yeah this is the video that I disagreed with Badger. Just because a game franchise has a history of being buggy and unfinished doesn’t make it okay. It’s alright to enjoy the game still, but games need an equal amount of enjoyment and criticism. The key point is that if I’m paying a large sum of money (that I cannot refund) to play a game, it doesn’t have to be perfect, but it should be fixed enough that the bugs are either unnoticeable or so minor that just exiting and coming back in fixes them.

It seems I have great bug avoidance as I played 2077 for many hours on my Xbox One and only came across a few bugs that weren't even that bad. I've also rarely ever come across any bugs in Skyrim and I've played that for well over 1 thousand hours.
