So when my son was two, he loved his sisters dresses and her doll. I didn't think he was gay at two, just had great taste in clothes 😂. Oof. As someone who was brought up in a conservative, religious, heteronormative household, I can tell you that it's not based in logic at all. It's all about trying to uphold what they believe is the "normal, righteous" way of life perfectly aligned with God. Anything not-straight was incredibly, stomach-churningly threatening to that worldview. It was based in pure fear and ignorance.

It's healthy to hear other people's opinions and not only surround yourself with those who think like you. Blatant biological science doesn't get more clear than that there are two sexes, it only takes eyes to see it. But it's not just the body but men and women's brains and hormones are very different as well. Gender is no different. There's not a specific experience or feeling it takes to be a man or woman, you just are what you're born as. Artificial hormones and mutilating surgeries can be profoundly damaging, physically and emotionally, and won't solve whatever problems led you to take them.

I just want to say thank you for the “Not All Christians Hate The LGBT+ Community” PSA because my parents are both pastors and quite involved in their faith, but they are still some of the most supportive people of my transgender-ness that I know and they believe that God loves everyone no matter what (and that God is both male and female and neither as they’ve told me for as long as I can remember, but that’s just a cool thing that has little to no relevance in this comment), so keep being yourselves, you valid human beings! Also, I don’t know where I stand in the religion department. Also-also, my parents are 57 and 59 (the latter to be 60 on ace pride day in June), so it’s fantastic that they’re so open minded!
