An Apology To Those Who Are Divorced |

While there is much good churches have practiced, there is a plethora of abuse the church has caused as well. One example is how we've treated those who are divorced. Mike Lamson walks through a teaching from Mark 10 in the Bible where a group of Pharisees ask Jesus about divorce and remarriage. Jesus' response is much different than how many churches have interpreted this text.

Why cant you just pray for people and not post about their sins? Why is pointing out someone else’s sin important enough that you take your thoughts and commit them to the internet for all to read! Would you first like to do the biblically righteous act of confession to all of us of your sins, before condemning someone else? I pray that you will change the way you think and that you always ask yourself first if what you are about to spew on the internets can apply to you before you commit your thoughts here forever. Remember the greatest commandment, love God first, then love your neighbor!!

I'm highly unsure why you are attacking someone for apologizing to people who needed to hear it. At no point in time did he go on here and condemn others. Nor did he spew people's sins on the internet. Being so triggered by a man's apology to people hurting signals something deeper going on with you. I hope you seek the Lord to help you through whatever pain you're going through.

Why is he apologizing when they broke their promise to god. . Unless its infidelity it was disingenuous from the start like a gay marriage. They ought to be ashamed.

The promise is til death do us part. What God brings together who are we to separate ? Marriage doesn’t happen, it’s work. You can’t get what you think you deserve you get what you earn. Hence reaping what you sow.

No such thing as a homosexual marriage. God said a man and a woman and that’s it. When he does talk about homosexuals remember he set an example of what should be done to them.

You are literally the type of person that gives religious ppl a bad name. Yes, there are ppl who divorce because of selfish or stupid reasons. But there are also people who divorce for many good reasons, and some aren't adultery. Those people's worlds shatter. They did promise, and they meant it, but sometimes the other person in the bond with you isn't willing to honor their promises. If you don't understand that that maybe don't comment on it. This man understands that and loves others the way Christ did. He forgives others as Jesus forgave us. He is reaching out and lifting those that the world' Or church would forsake.. the same as Jesus did.

@@xWanheda_Autumn I’m not religious, By the true definition of the word. I don’t do things religiously if I work for God, it’s by choice. I am a Christian. That’s saved by Grace through faith alone. I’m washed in his blood and as a child of God if we make promises, he’ll hold us against that. If my wife cheated or if I cheated God didn’t say adultery is a reason for divorce, he said fornication. That’s before marriage. That also doesn’t mean abuse that privilege and doesn’t mean we won’t be chastened as children of the Lord. It simply means as a promise in marriage the main vow is to stay together so we can work things out. You got married for a reason, now if that persons a reprobate or unsaved then what can you do? You may leave the marriage if you guys aren’t compatible just like Paul said. But that’s only if the other isn’t saved. It’s simply laid out. And What am I gonna do? God will punish those who do wrong, Am I gonna go out there and force people together or not? I’m just simply saying they’re breaking a vow, and that won’t go unpunished and nobody talks about that part. Also look at the influence, we must be forgiving yes. But we can’t normalize these things. Just as much as forgiveness to others should be preached, this sin should be preached against as well if not more so.
