I was trying to play a couple of Marty Stuart's songs a few years ago and did not know anything about 'B-benders'............song drove me nuts as I couldn't figure out how he was reaching certain notes........now I know why ! !

@@tomk1tl39 Yup! Happened to me as well. I was trying to learn Daily Observations Of A Crow off The Pilgrim. Couldn't understand how in the heck he was doing it. A few years later I was talking to Brad Davis, who played guitar on that album, and he explained that it was a b bender attached to one of his acoustics. That particular one, according to Brad, was operated by a pedal on the floor.

As ALWAYS! Brilliant analysis, execution - deft touch where EVERY note is discernible in its function- and that glorious SOUND! And, pointers to classic recordings I’ve somehow missed. (I expected the Albert reference near the end to be “Sweet Little Lisa” from Edmund’s “Repeat When Necessary”. You definitely create a “work stoppage” atmosphere when you drop these critters. As usual THANK you for the time and insights. They’re both VERY useful and inspiring!

Zac I got a micro mustang 6 months ago. Best investment. I live in a studio apt so it comes in handy. Also, I plug guitar into; noble pedal (set to mild boost); Cali76; delay, chorus; flanger, and octave pedal; with the micro at the end of the chain. It’s adds layers to the sound. Love it.

I saw some inputs below about straps. I got my Brent Mason model, mainly because of the factory installed B-bender, about 3 months ago and am going thru the learning curve phases getting familiar with the "how-to" and having the full (great) experience. I stumbled across several of your tips along the way and your explanations really helped in me getting to know the benders how and why parts which I greatly appreciate.

About a decade or so ago I picked up a Grainger Tele that he put a Parsons White bender in. I've never really been able to get any usable play out of it other than a few lame bends here and there. So yeah Zac, if you wanted to do more lessons on its use I'd vote for it! This lesson helped break the ice so to speak.

I pursued getting a Parsons / White B bender back in the 70's . Acturally talked to one of them on the phone for info but never went through with it . It was kind of expensive at the time...... Was so knocked out by Bob Warford's solo on 'Willin' ..... Still my favorite bender solo .... Not a lot of tricks , not a lot of notes , Just right for the song ......

Thanks for this lesson Zac - I've known about the B-Bender for some time, but it's always been a bit of a mystery to me as I've never owned or played a guitar fitted with one. Your video with Joe Glaser and this lesson really unlock the secrets on how it works and what great sounds it provides. Very tempted to look into getting a B-Bender guitar someday (hopefully sooner rather than later). Really enjoyed the B-Bender style riff on "Memphis" - instantly familiar, yet unique.

Zac you are so talented and offer such nice information on all elements surrounding the tele. Last week with Jimmy O with his b/g benders and today with just the b bender. Btw do you personally have anything out with a band that we could hear "your" playing on? I know it would be good.

Hey Zac, I love your episodes. I 've learned so much from you and really appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Hope you have a minute to answer a couple questions for me. 1) The B string on my Glaser bender tele keeps breaking after about 30 hours of playing. It breaks right at the top of the finger as it curves around towards the neck. Is this normal for a bender, or do I need to get something adjusted or try different strings? I'm using Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys 10-46s. 2) Do you know of any books that teach B-Bender licks, techniques etc. like from Hal Leonard or something? Again, really loving your show and love the amp schematic t-shirt I got ;)

I’m thinking because of the release of the Brent Mason Tele I’ve been hearing and seeing a lot done with a B bender. I’m wondering what is the least expensive way to get a telecaster with a B bender without breaking the bank to make sure it would be something that I would use. I really do love the way it sounds though. Great lesson.

Zac, building a Gibson conversion 3x3 mahogany quatersawn neck and flame maple fret board 12-16* on tele HH body with Tummy cut and arm relief in Flamed Mapleand was considering a Kingtone switch with variable capacitance, and possibly using a Freeway 3 way toggle that offers 6 positions into JBE Two Tone Pickups. Have you any knowledge or experience with Either and would it be too gimmicky since this Guitar is far from a Joke
