Also some of the OPs and EDs (those by Linked Horizon) in theor full version have their title in German right after the beginning Guren no Jumiya = Feuerroter Pfeil und Bogen (Crimson Bow and Arrow) Jiyuu no Tsubasa = Flügel der Freiheit (Wings of freedom) Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi = Der Weg der Sehnsucht und die Leichen (Path of Desire and the corpses (used google translate for this one)) Akatsuki no Requiem = Requiem der Morgenröte (requiem of dawn)

FYI In the first and second opening they use a lot, and I mean a lot of German. Mostly because a lot of the names in the show, Like "Jäger", "Reiner", "Berthold" etc. are German, but also because the village AOT is based on is Nördlingen in Bavaria, Germany. So hey, feel free to experience the real-life AOT village if you ever visit Germany :)
@enjuci27542 жыл бұрын
Yeah. The first line of the opening is Seid ihr das essen? Nein wir sind die jaëgar. Which means Are we the food? No, we are the hunters. Probably sums up season 1 and 2

in general there is a german theme going on. The Eldia basically are based on germans hence their names and the german themed buildings etc. Also the thing that is going on with them having that guilt of the past for which they think they have to shame themselves seems a very german thing.

@Hidetaka Miyazaki u obviously don't understand it then. the 139th chapter was planned before he started writing chapter 1. "Eren, why are u crying?" mikasa asks first panel in manga. This is answered in chapter 139 when we realize titan memories. No, it's not generic at all. It's one of the most well written shows of all time, in my opinion

Those 2 OPs were part of the 2017's Linked Horizon's concert tour. In the 1st part they basically play their AoT album (I highly recommend listening to it with subtitles). And in the 2nd one they play Linked Horizon and Sound Horizon songs from the past (LH and SH are both led by Revo, the main composer and vocalist). Both parts are about 2h35min long and used to be on KZbin in full, but they probably got copyright struck. And the DVD/Blu-ray versions are very hard to get nowadays sadly, especially outside of Japan.

I went to several concerts with symphonic orchestras, in particular One Piece, Saint Seiya, studios Ghibli. It's incredible, in a hall with excellent acoustics it's exceptional, you are completely immersed in the anime, the atmosphere and the memories, especially with the extracts on the big screen behind the orchestra. You have to live it at least once in your life. There are also some with film music but it is less my thing. There are often some in Paris, I don't know what it is on your side of the Atlantic.

Half the Attack on Titan Intro/Outros have at least a bit german in it, the first intro the most I think. Really funny how he didn‘t realize it before. Many Characters also have very german names. I mean Thomas, Berthold, Jäger… animes often have here or there german names for attacks or such but in Attack on Titan its more, the city Eren was born in I think is an ACTUAL GERMAN CITY. It‘s amazing to me as a german see some inspiration of our culture.

Fun Facts about the musicians that perform with Linked Horizon: Junji, the drummer, already performed with many japanese solo artists but is better known for playing with his band SIAM SHADE (known for making a ending theme for Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X). Atsushi, the bassist, played with a big japanese rock band called Gerard. Yuki, the guitar player with the Flying V, played with Acid Black Cherry and Aucifer Takeshi, the older guitar player, is a touring member of Hound Dog (Known for playing the Naruto's first opening theme, ROCKS)
