He seems like an interesting but tragic person. I am not sure if I would be interested in reading him but those vintage book covers are really really rad looking.

He really is unlike anyone else I've read. For that reason he definitely isn't for everyone. A truly unique and troubled man. I didn't go too much into his personal life here but his death and end of life certainly matches an unfortunate pattern of writers, the juxtaposition of that with the often joyful and optimistic writing only adds to that tragedy.
