not really these schools are mostly in the big cities, many schools dont let students leave for free periods/blocks or for lunch, cant be out in the halls just to be out there, some dont even have lockers😭, and the typical strict teachers

Keep in mind that a lot of vloggers just pick out the good bits so that the video isn't boring and this probably isn't representative of the average American public school experience, I'm homeschooled so I have a completely different set of struggles with my education but from what I've heard from the traditionally schooled people I know the public high school where I live sounds absolutely hellish and I constantly flip flop between being grateful that I'm homeschooled and wishing I was in public school so that I had more to talk about with them lol

In the US, students at least have basic rights and the education system is not so overloaded. At least as far as I know they don't have homework and they don't study like we do from 8am to 6-7pm.

And, if you compare, Americans don't have mandatory school exams.Our exams, of course, are not comparable to the Chinese ones, but still, suicides among children after their results are not uncommon.Also, Americans can choose which subjects to study, but we can’t. This is starting to look like I'm complaining about life, so I'll stop, hahah

I love this- It's not that relatable to me- the only relatable part is that I live in NY too just not the city- I'm a charter school student since 1st grade- it was really weird and different when I first went but I fell in love with it- the only difference is the charter high school I want to go to is big and I feel like I'm bout to get lost when I start going- love it still tho- I subbed- I'm not allowed to walk to school because you know how the world is nowadays- lol- love that someone finally did a NYC school version- love it-
