''Climbing up on Solsbury Hill I could see the city light Wind was blowing, time stood still Eagle flew out of the night He was something to observe Came in close, I heard a voice Standing, stretching every nerve Had to listen, had no choice I did not believe the information Just had to trust imagination My heart going boom, boom, boom "Son", he said, "grab your things, I've come to take you home" ''

I read an article years ago that told how a farmer accidentally hit an eagle with his truck and crippled it. He took the bird back to his farm and cared for it, and though it never flew again it took up residence on his fence. After a month or two, he saw that there were two eagles on the fence; his mate had found him and would bring him food each day, then spend time with him when she was finished. I don't know what happened after, but it was a neat story all the same.

*BJETNT*, I'm right there with you on that and I know the sorrow. I've had many companion animals (dogs, cats, birds, lizards, turtles, rabbits and so on) in my life and I miss every single one of them every day of my life. As a child, my dogs saved me from abusive parents and a sibling who - very seriously - tried every day to make me die. I am the seventh and last born daughter and the seventh girl, but no brothers. My parents rejected me because of that. I was their last ditch attempt to have a boy and I came out of the womb a girl and was instantly hated. Because of all my pets, I was able to just barely hold on until I was 18 and could escape the beatings, the rejection and the violence towards me. I took my pets with me. My dogs and cats and all the other animals I've had really sustained my soul throughout those bad years. Thanks to God I am well gone from all of those people forever - thank you, Father in heaven - and have a wonderful hubby, two gorgeous daughters and lots of pets whom I treat with just as much respect and great love as the rest of my "pack". I have never, ever been without a pet with me, even when I traveled overseas and back. PLEASE LOVE YOUR PETS AS MUCH AS THEY LOVE AND LOOK UP TO YOU!

@@tessarix I can honestly say I really did love that little animal as much as I possibly could. Like I said 10 years later it still bothers me and I still go crazy every time I see a little red wiener dog. As soon as I get settled back in New Orleans that's the first thing I'm getting. that was so precious and the only thing that was more precious was the girl that owned it. Your story that I just read honestly put tears in my eyes. The one thing I enjoyed more than that dog was being a parent I had a little boy for 4 years and the mother had a drug problem and I come home one day and they were gone and I've never seen either one of them since. He wasn't my genetic son so I lost him. I know what it's like to deal with pain but I can see you've been through much worse.I wouldn't wish that on anybody I've got a lot of friends that have went through similar stuff and some of them are as broke as you can get and some of them are absolute miracles. I think you would fit in the extreme absolute miracle category. I was so glad to hear that you have a hubby that loves you and kids and always have a pet. I have to admit I'm jealous as hell but I wouldn't take it away from you just so I would have it. I'm not the type of person to step on another person to get ahead. Those are bullies and one of my professional jobs is to beat up bullies and I enjoy it quite a bit. I had a little bit of a rough childhood just because my dad was an a****** but I didn't do anything like you did. But I honestly believe if I didn't have the mother than I did I might have ended up a serial killer I fit the profile really well honestly and I'm not even joking. I'm highly intelligent good looking and a white man over 30 that's what most of them are. And I honestly had a really really violent tendencies anyway because of some of the things that happened like being bullied when I was younger. I responded by becoming a 250 lb bodybuilder and having two black belts. let's just say I overcompensated a little bit lol.again thank you for telling me how well things have turned out for you that actually gives me hope for me yet. this is so fantastic. I have had eagles live around my places as they hunt for fish in the ocean. They are simply amazing creatures. Nice to see the one was saved. It would not have got over the poisoning on its own. How incredible that it found its way to its saviours! Also incredible that the male brought food daily! Wow...
