An Eaglet's First Flight

Since at least the 1980's, bald eagle pairs have nested along the Bitterroot River near MPG Ranch in Florence, Montana. A pair has successfully fledged young (raised and left the nest) 24 out of 27 years monitored. In 2016, the active nest fledged two young. Here is a video of that event.

We are watching two eagles nests in Stevens Point, WI. One nest is easy to view as it is next to a parking lot. Two big eagles could be seen perched on the rim of the nest on Father's Day. Hope to be lucky enough to see them when they fledge. A few winters ago we saw a mature eagle land on the partially frozen Wisconsin River carrying a large fish where an eaglet stood patiently awaiting lunch. Such an awesome sight. Thanks so much for sharing this video. I never tire of viewing this majestic birds! (also have a pair of nesting osprey nearby that have two chicks, as well.)

A friend walking towards the Kishwaukee River on his property scared up an eagle much to his surprise. A blast of hot air hit him from the flap of those broad wings. Not expecting any close encounters on that day, but what a thrill!

Thank you very much. I used a canon 600mm with a 1.5x extender. Some of the footage was shot with a Canon SX60, its optical zoom is amazing!

I would love to get an eagle fledging and am currently watching 4 nests (Three bald and one Golden). Three years ago I filmed two Goldens raising their two chicks and a Red tailed hawk chick.

I reckon my first bicycle ride after this , I tried it for years never came , but after some time I made a friend who can ride the bike ,in competition i learned it in "2 days " ,same story for my brother's friend , he came to swimming pool for 1 year ,never learned to swim, same with his father. My brother started going to it , he learned it in 1 week time , in competition the friend also started picking it up , and finally learned swimming in 1 months time , while his dad was still fluttering and swimming like a dead body 😂😂
