I had an intimate church wedding and in the reception hall of the church we had cake and punch just like my parents did in 1960, it was a beautiful wedding and all of my guests really enjoyed themselves. I totally agree it’s crazy to spend thousands on a wedding, my nephew was married a year ago and it was 25 thousand dollars and that didn’t include their very expensive honeymoon. I told him he needed to drop that money on buying a house and keep the wedding simple. He’s still renting a can’t afford to buy a house, that’s was absolutely crazy in my opinion.

My youngest daughter had a traditional wedding. She got married in a local church. We went to the local Legion hall. We decorated it, and the whole family pitched in and we made all the food sandwiches, potato salad, meat and cheese trays. It was a lot of fun and everybody thought that we all did a great job.

If I had to do it over, I would have gone with my gut instinct and eloped to a beautiful country and on a beautiful trip to get married (to someone else). I remember my father approaching me and offering me the money that would pay for the reception to do just that. And it was quite funny because that was what I wanted to do. But I married the wrong person who wanted to put on a show and that wasn’t me. Didn’t last so just shows it was a mistake. Not that my reception was expensive. But I am a private person for the most part with that sort of thing And I think a trip to Europe/UK would’ve been so much better. Wish I could have another chance with someone that loved me for me instead of for my shoes and my job.

6:37 don’t know if you know but in the UK we have had a LOT of travel issues in the last week. Due to severe flooding motorways, roads, etc have caused chaos. In addition, our train network suffered a serious cyberattack that has been deemed a terror act. That has been a big problem massively affecting travel. That was done by someone with access to the official rail network server.
