My wife handed her phone to me yesterday as I'm sitting on the steps of our little store soaking up as much of that beautiful sunshine as I could get. As I'm listening to this song, tears flowed down my cheeks for a good 15 minutes after watching it 3 times. As I handed the phone back to her, she asked me if I liked it. I could hardly speak with a huge lump in my throat. She said, "Well did you?" I stopped and said, "This is why I always wanted a little girl." She said, "What?" I said, "So she could sing a song like this to me some day." I was a mess... This is without a doubt the most beautiful version of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen I have ever heard. These two sisters, Cassandra & Callahan, are not only beautiful, their voices are simply angelic.

I’ve been a firefighter for nearly 30 years, I served during 2 gulf wars, I’ve been shot at, stabbed multiple times, and seen more death and destruction than any person probably should. Not a lot moves me anymore, but before these young ladies were even done with the first line, I was driven to my knees, where I belonged, begging for forgiveness and mercy. I am a Registered Nurse and a Christian. I cried when I listened to this. What Jesus went through for us---- he was beaten to a pulp, he lost so much blood during the whippings he got, that a human would not be able to survive. They shoved piercing thorns into his head and mocked him, and then he had to carry that heavy cross up Calvary hill and the grand finale .....nailed him to the cross...I thank you Jesus Christ Son of God.

I am a pastor, recently guilty of despair in witnessing much of what has happened in recent times. I was aware of Cohen's Hallelujah without really caring for it one way or another. I woke this morning and am preparing teas since I am not a coffee person but still find myself with too much blood clogging up my caffeine system. As I await the pot that is reluctant to boil, I sat down at my computer to ponder the tasks ahead of me in preparing my little church for passion Sunday, tomorrow, and the rest of Holy Week and have to fit it in a 600 mile round trip to San Antonio. My attitude left something to be desired. For some reason, this video came up in my KZbin feed. I almost ignored it but my fingers clicked without an regard for my intentions. I then sat mesmerized. I want to thank both of you for returning a bit of my sanity and for the joy you have brought me this morning. Jesus is God, who took on flesh, so that He could be the sacrifice for our sins. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We all are born distant from our Creator. Our sin separates us from a Holy God. God's love and justice was placed on that cross. God says, that the wages of sin is death. We have ALL rebelled against our Creator. However, God Himself took on flesh (fully man and fully God) and "paid it in full" for all of us. The price has been paid, and God's justice on sin has been fully met. Gods amazing grace, which is undeserved favor. None of us deserve it. Our part is to recognize that we are a sinner in need of God's mercy. Then accept the mercy that God gave through Jesus. By Gods grace, through faith, not of works, lest any man should boast, it is a free gift of God. That is how much our Creator loves us my friend. He put on flesh (made himself in our likeness, since it was the sin of MAN which needed to be atoned for) and suffered in our place, WILLINGLY. Justice and mercy. Love and forgiveness. The nails did not hold the Creator on that cross my friend, but His love for us did. He could have stopped it at anytime and sent down an army of His angels. Yet, He didn't. Why? LOVE. The sacrifice had to be unblemished. A sinless man. NONE of us could meet that requirement, so God met it for us by being made in our image, then lived a perfect sinless life, and then took our punishment upon Himself, so that we could be justly forgiven by our Creator, and then our relationship with Him could be restored. He rose 3 days later because death could not hold Him/God. He is alive forevermore. AMAZING GRACE. God paid a very high price to purchase this gift because we couldn't do it ourselves. Then, He turns around and offers this gift to any who will accept it by faith. Even to you my friend. Accept Gods amazing gift, which He purchased with His own blood. God Bless.

Last evening, my wife says to me, "I want you to listen to this version of 'Hallelujah'." I told her, "I'm not a big fan of that song." She says, "This is different. Listen to the lyrics." So, with my eyes closed and my forehead pressed against my folded hands, I start to listen. The angelic voices were new to me, and the lyrics were not the depressing lyrics of Cohen. At once, the emotion welled up inside me, the tears started flowing down my cheeks. I had just come home from Stations of the Cross and from Reconciliation at church, and this was God's way of telling me he heard my prayers of contrition, love and hope. Cassandra and Callahan, thank you for a beautiful, touching, and blessed song. To Kelley, Jeff, Maverick and everyone involved, thank you so much for this. May God bless all of you and may this video blow up the internet. I promise you with all certainty if you develop an intimate relationship with The Lord at this young age, the blessings that you will receive will be great. How do you develop intimate relationship with The Lord? Take the Bible as God's personal letter to you (this is exactly what it is). Look forward to reading it every day. Start with the Gospels especially John's Gospel. Read about 1 to 2 chapters every day. Apply what you read to your everyday life. None of us is perfect. Only Christ is perfect. If or rather when you sin ( we all sin from time to time even though we don't like to). Get on your knees and say to God that you are sorry and ask for forgiveness and ask The Holy Spirit to help you not to sin again. Chat to God regularly and frequently about everything. Thank you for this beautiful reminder on how much we are loved by Almighty God. I saw Easter in a new way today while listening to this...that God is also showing us, with Jesus Christ’s death...that He, God the Father, was also willing to die for us. The Godhead, being Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is three-in-one, so when Jesus suffered and died for our sins, so was God the Father willing to do. From a human perspective, and possibly from God the Father’s perspective, it is more painful to see your child die than to die yourself...I think that is pretty much the ultimate showing of love...to suffer horribly and die for you and me. Praise and gratitude forever to our God.
