Here's an amazon link for the jars and lids. I love wide mouth jars because you can put your hand in to get the berries and and also it's so much easier to wash.
Super easy, one step way to make your strawberries last a lot longer in the refrigerator. Simply take them out of the container and put them right into a glass mason jar with a lid. You don't even wash them(until you're ready to take them out and eat them). That's really all there is to it. You'll save so much money because you won't be throwing away rotten strawberries anymore.

This works! I heard about this tip a few months ago and have been doing it ever since strawberry season began.I put a folded up paper towel on the bottom of the jar to absorb any excess moisture. Haven't had one strawberry go bad! What a gamechanger.

note that you don't wash them first, and you don't remove stems/leaves. also don't put any bruised or damaged berries in with the others. they should be blemish free. wash them when you take them out and dry/drain them.

I just soaked blue and strawberries in cold vinegar water dried then placed them in large mason jars can’t wait to see how long they last, they may not last that long I’m a smoothie lover and I love fruit in my salad so they may not make it two weeks 🥰

The vinegar trick works. I haven’t even needed to put them in a glass jar. But then again, the longest they ever need to last is about a week.

I've heard you can also use this method for other berries, I haven't tried it. Since making this video, I find that if you put a paper towel at the top of the jar to absorb moisture, it works even better. Also make sure all of the berries are good with no blemishes. I've tried both plastic and glass, they both work. If you put a paper towel in the container it helps too.

I guess because if the strawberries are wet, they'll get moldy. Maybe if you dried the strawberries after you washed them it would work. I'll try it next time.

@ChéLynn I've tried this 4 times and once my strawberries went bad after just a few days. The other 3 times, I had great luck. I wonder if there was one bad strawberry in the jar and it made the others spoil faster. Try it again and see if you have better success.

I buy my jars and lids on amazon. The lids are the greatest! You can find them by searching plastic storage lids for mason jars. I love wide mouth, they're so easy to clean and get into.
