I like the little detail of writing the rackets in coordination of their perspective colors in real life. I SEE YOU

Astrel is not the most expensive Yonex line of racquets. That prize goes to the (unmentioned) Regna, which is also a little outside of the realm. But only if you want to call Regna a "line" of racquets. Still worth mentioning is that the lines are not as much one trick ponies like many others (e.g. Pure Aero was only good for insane spin and nothing else until recently). So you can still consider an Ezone Tour as a control stick. And at some point the lines cover some competitors' frames. Like the Percept 97 takes on both Blade and Pro Staff, the 100D is meant to compete against the Head Gravity (although Yonex would never confirm to ever look at other brands at all). And speaking of your impressions from the Vcore 98, I heard many players prefer 95 or 100, they are both more committed to what they want to be like. And forget that Yonex's VDM tech does work extremely well. It takes out all vibrations, leading to an insanely muted string bed in which you can't even tell if there's a dampener mounted.

Very true about the Yonex racquet lines not being one trick ponies. I decided to make the video as simple as possible for any level of player, whether beginner or advanced, to have an easy comparison guide not only for comparing Yonex racquets to each other but against other brands as well. I didn't really mention the Regna in the video since it is not as consistently created compared to the other 4. I definitely should have had it in there as an honorable mention. That's an interesting point that you have about the VDM technology. When I was playtesting the Percept, that one still felt like it had nice feel to it even with the VDM technology to it. I can definitely see how the VCORE and EZONE racquets though could become too soft.

Great video. I’m currently using the Babolat Pure Drive but I’m starting to experience some arm discomfort/tennis elbow. I’ve started doing some exercises to try and help strengthen my arms. I went today to get it restrung with a softer string and a lower tension. In the mean time I took a couple racquets out to demo, the Wilson clash 100 and the vcore 100. Do you have any suggestions on other racquets to try or things I could do?
@brodytaylor20205 ай бұрын
The Wilson Clash 100 is definitely going to be much easier on your arm than the Pure Drive is. If the discomfort/tennis elbow still persists or gets worse, then I would say to look into demoing a Volkl racquet. They are one of the best brands for getting rid of tennis-elbow in my opinion. The Volkl Vostra V8 300G would probably be the closest to what you are using now in terms of playability so I would go with that one if the Clash and VCORE do not work out.
@mikepotapa57735 ай бұрын
@@brodytaylor2020 that’s great that you said that. After I checked out the two I’m demoing I talked to another employee and he had me hit some of the Volkl. (They have a hitting bay in the store) I’m not sure which one it was, maybe the V6? It did feel pretty comfortable so when I bring back the clash and vcore next Saturday I’m going to demo that one I think and maybe the Head Speed MP? I also want to try my Pure Drive with the new strings/tension. I’m 41 and got back into tennis in January after not playing for over 20 years. My son has been playing for a couple years (he is now 8) and he inspired me to start playing again. I’m probably a 3.5-4.0 player currently looking to keep improving!

That's awesome that you are getting back into tennis and playing with your son! That was almost the same situation with my dad when I started playing except I was a little older when I first started playing. The Head Speed MP would also be a good one to try just to have a difference in feel and comparison to what you have already demoed. Definitely let me know how it goes with the demo's and the restrung Pure Drive!

Currently, I play with Wilson Blade 104 and want to switch to Yonex. Which one is good to switch? Thanks!
@brodytaylor20205 ай бұрын
I would say to take a look at the Percept 100 and to demo it to make sure it would play to your standards. That is arguably going to be the most similar since it is a control racquet just like the Wilson Blade 104

how about regna?
@brodytaylor20206 ай бұрын
I personally have not had the chance to play with the Regna but from everything I have heard about it, some people are absolute fans and will never let the racquet go away while some feel that the other lines in the Yonex line play and feel better than the Regna. For the price-point that this racquet is typically sold at, it technically is the most expensive frame sold by Yonex however since it is not consistently made/available compared to the other 4 racquet lines mentioned in the video, I did not talk about it. Playability wise, I have mainly heard that the Regna is a stiffer racquet compared to other Yonex frames and does not requires a bit more of an advanced player to use the racquet properly. The Regna would definitely be an interesting racquet to try but if Yonex decides to make a new version of it then we will have to see if they have fixed that problem or adjusted other factors of the racquet.
