If they were from Dollar General & on the penny list then they don't have to be expired. Sometimes the company tell them to get rid of they are changing the packaging. And you can change the water in a snow globe if it has a plug in it. Just take the plug out drain it & just google it there will be instructions on how to change the water. But google them first to see how much they are worth so that you do not decrease the value.

This is why you keep a tote handy for your big hauls. LOL I just looked up Columbus Oh it is legal to dumpster dive as long as no trespassing sign or locked dumpsters or fencing around the dumpster. You could also grab a good box when you find one so you can put your items in them for when you get home esier to carry in the house. You need to take a roll of heavy duty tape to tape up the bags of pet food. I love fish tanks we had a 40 gallon tank & big fancy fish. If I could not sleep at night I would go set by the tank & watch the fish & it relaxed me. Then I could go back to sleep. Nice haul look up those music globes & check on the value. Then google to see if it decreases the value if you change out the water in them just in case you decide to keep them.

I use to collect globes sometimes you can take the bottom off and replace the water and glitter in them if there is a plug in them. The yellow color in the water comes from temperature changes if they are in storage or a window

Your best bet would be to go to the city hall and make a request for a copy of any and all ordinaces in regards to dumpster diving and scavaging. Then you'll always have a written response at hand as to wether there are any. Also I think thurs cops were ok simply because you hadn't made a mess

Great idea on leaving the toys. But I got to say as a mother about the snacks, it's great the heart you have. But I would not take the food just sitting there at a gas station. Great dive! Every interaction with police is different. Depends on the attitudes of both parties. The interaction prior to this one was bad. But the officer had a nasty attitude from jump. These officers are the kind you don't mind being stopped by.

Hi curbside Junkies great video great haul alot of the snow globe that have wood on the bottom can be alot of money some pawn shop buy them and so do antique shop I have some with the wood on the bottom and the antique store give me $75.00 dollars for it and you can order the glass for the snow globe the glass are $3..00 to $10.00 dollars. You can sale the video games at game stop

I love love love the snow globes!! I have several too. My favorite one is the one my granddaughter gave me for Christmas. Her great grandmother gave it to her for Christmas because she didn't get a chance to go shopping. So she just went in her back room and pulled stuff out. But, my baby wanted to make sure she gave her Nanny something for Christmas, so she gave me hers. It plays " I just called to say I love you" by Stevie Wonder.

My husband was a Police Officer and he would have thought it was great what you all are doing to help families but he also would have had to enforce the law of the city. But he was a cop with a heart and he would have probably have helped you all if it wasn’t against a city ordinance if he had a free minute. He is gone now we lost him in 2011 to cancer he was a wonderful husband , Dad and Granddad. He was also one of the nicest Police Officers you would have ever met. He wasn’t mean but he upheld the law. But as I said he would have thought it was wonderful how you all are helping people to have food and clothing and things to help them in a time of need. He was a wonderful Christian man with a heart of gold.

I've got four larger sized snow gloves out al of the time and a few stashed with Christmas decorations. The water hasn't discolored but one has dissipated almost half way. Not sure how though. It doesn't leak. Would love to refill it if there was a way. I love them!

Love this haul especially the snow gloves got some gloves for ya Staci before I retired I use to run a robotic welder bought a bunch of these gloves then they decided to change the style an I couldn't use these so will get them in the mail for ya hope you can use them. I checked mine and nothing is posted other than clean up trash area for merchants. So i asked a cop a few months back and he said unless it posted by the merchant it is not illegal to dumpster dive. Glad i ran into him to ask because i found nothing on the city site.

Carry packing or duck tape with you for ripped bags. That way you can tape them before you take them out of the dumpster and you won't lose any. Bet you even find some tape dumpstsr diving. :) If not, go for the good tape, don't buy the cheap stuff from the Dollar Tree, because it won't hold. Take it from me, I used to work in a pet store and we used clear packing tape, to "save" bags damaged in shipment or ripped in the store. Also, so glad you rescued the snow globes, they are beautiful and my youngest loves them as well.

The last time a police officer watched me was when I dived at an aldi dumpster. I saw him hiding in the dark in the corner, just watched me fill up a cart of goodies. Lol didn't bat an eye lash at me either.

Check Local Laws for “Garbage Ordinances" Dumpster diving is technically legal in all 50 states. In 1988, there was a Supreme Court case (the State of California vs. Greenwood) that ruled searching trash is legal as long as it does not conflict with any city, county, or state ordinances. So, when a trash bag is on the curb to be picked up by a waste removal company or your trashcan is waiting at the end of your driveway, it becomes “public domain" and the Fourth Amendment no longer applies. This means most garbage can be searched or taken by the police, a neighbor, waste removal employees, or a stranger. To learn the specifics in your city, you can research your state laws online and find helpful links to state and county websites. From there, the ordinances are often searchable or listed under waste or garbage sections. The more granular you can get with these laws, the safer you will be. Think of dumpster diving laws as a funnel and check with each level during every step: Federal law: Legal State law: Legal County law: It depends - you must research this City law: It depends - you must research this A restaurant or business's specific laws: It depends - you must research this Private property: Illegal Warning signs or locks on the dumpster: Illegal. Anyways...I hope you looked up that Japanese vase, I just put in 'Japan made pheasant vase' in google and it came up with lots of options and they weren't cheap!! Please get a tripod when you can, It will not only free up your hand, it will really make watching a bit easier. And some head lamps will help you both have lights! Its just really hard to see . I don't want to tell y'all how to do your diving, I know it's not easy , I've just seen other divers use the tripods so they can really dig, and it doesn't make you dizzy and jump around a lot! I'd love to see your channel grow large enough to allow you to get rich! You both deserve the best! I just want to help, I hope y'all know this! Very cool fish tank! They are so relaxing to watch!
