Pure nostalgia. Played this game competitively back in my early to mid teens before moving to other RTS games. I retired from competitive play with Company of Heroes, where I managed to get an impressive +90% win percentage during a "season" of the in-game 1v1 ladder. Developers of CoH liked to reset the in-game ladders after they released a patch. I wished I took a damn screenshot, I think I had 27 losses, and something between 410 to 430 wins. In simple terms, Zero Hour was my starting point of competitive play and I had a blast. The nuke general meta back then for 1v1s was to sell CC so you can have 2 supplies, 2 war factories where you would throw a non stop attack. Because your eco would slowly grow, at some point you would be able to shift over to overlords. Tactics such as force firing over a supply to radiation kill workers of a GLA (before radiation radius was nerfed), micro suiciding tank explosions to damage your enemy. For the explosions, for a nuke v nuke matchup it was very common to move your tank next to the enemy tank, so if you lost the battle your explosion would make it neutral state as both tanks would be destroyed. For USA, air force general, it was a rush to get search and destroy up so you can out range everything with rockvees. The days where we would share game replays as this was a time before streaming and youtube. For GLA, toxin general was popular as the rpg soldiers were superior as their rpgs were stingers. A thing to note, everyone hated INF general because we as the competitive community deemed it to be overpowered and it just wasn't fun to play against. We never did a random meta, most likely due to the 1/4 chance of getting a vanilla faction which was deemed to be bad, as most matchups you will lose. I remember a random 1v1 against a friend and we both got vanilla china and we basically did a base swap as we used literally the same rush strategy that destroyed each other bases. We likely playing on a small/medium size map, I forget the name of it, it was fairly balanced for every faction. USA factions tended to do better on larger maps as rushes could be handled easier compared to smaller maps for China and GLA were good at. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment and here's hopes you never had to experience scudbug, if you know you know.

Legi really should used his neutron shells more often that would stop the enemy rush for sure and kill the infantry in the tanks

I generally avoid using it because frequent use of Neutron Shells on large enemy armies can increase the chance of a game crash

GLA is my favorite general even though the defense is weak but when it comes to fast building and out numbering your enemy in 3 to 5 minutes and upgrades it's perfect

i have 3 monitors. my main monitor is 3840x2160, and when i play the game, i play it in window mode (2560x1440). i have it on the top left of my screen. the right side of my 4k monitor then shows the live chat :)

Just bought on steam. Game won’t launch. Got directX error code. Deleted that dg file or whatnot. When use genpatcher from your site. Get error code E087. Says game not from valid source?? Should I just refund and use EA app. Was trying to stay away and use steam. Tried sending discord message like your support page says but doesn’t appear to be working. Any help would be appreciated.

You can't get that overlay. But the control bar is ControlBarHD+his add-ons. I think it's in the desc.

In GameRanger, pro players would kick you if you didn't have a symbol or accent in your player name, because they would assume you are noob. So I got kicked a lot playing as Legionnaire, but they stopped kicking me when I changed my name to `Legionnaire (true story)
